Last year's Saturn

Posted By Paul Maxson

Hi all,

Catching up on old images while waiting for my mount to return I processed this image of Saturn and noticed that I shot it almost exactly one year ago. Looking at some of the very excellent current images of Saturn posted, I can really see how closed the rings have become.

Hi all,

Here is a shot of Hubble's Variable Nebula (NGC2261). I shot one 30 minute L sub and one 10 minutes each RGB subs, total of 60 minutes exposure. Post processed in Photoshop CS3.

M42

Posted By Paul Maxson

Hi all,

Here is my attempt at M42. I'm not sure how to get rid of the blooms in the trapezium. I used the debloomer in CCDStack to get rid of most of the blooms. Anyway, considering the after I processed the image it was clipped, it didn't turn out too badly I think. Details on the image.

C14 on a EM200 mount?

Posted By Paul Maxson

What do you think, is a C14 too much for an EM200 mount? Just batting around some ideas.

LRGB Saturn from March 11, 2008

Posted By Paul Maxson

Hi all,

Here is an image of Saturn from March 11 in good seeing conditions. It's my first Saturn image not shot with a colour camera, but rather LRGB combining.

Pondering a change....

Posted By Paul Maxson

Hi all,

I'm pondering if moving to a C14 would be a significant upgrade from my Mewlon 250 for planetary imaging, any thoughts?

Saturn March 20, 2008

Posted By Paul Maxson

Hi all,

An image of Saturn from a couple of nights ago. I'm trying to shoot for more plate scale so I used the Televue 3x instead of the 2x. Except for the ring on the fringe of the planet, not too bad I think.
