So California is now trying to pass AB 2223 which sanctions the MURDER Of Newborn babies

Posted By Rod Kaufman

"AB 2223 (Wicks): Clarifies that pregnant people and those who assist them shall not be held liable for their pregnancy outcomes."
That's what the bill does and is essentially the same as one that has passed the state legislature in Colorado and is pending signature of the governor and parallels a similar one being considered in Maryland. The bills don't legalize infanticide...

I suspect these bills will likely be signed into law, likely as a proactive measures, which are designed to protect people from unwarranted prosecutions when SCOTUS overturns Roe V Wade by either allowing the Texas law and others like it to remain in place and/or authorizing the states to enact whatever laws on abortion they deem fit within their boundaries. It is the stated intention of the governor of California to make the state into an abortion free zone and airlifts from states like Texas have been contemplated for rescues of those in need of reproductive health care such as the victims that happen to reside in Texas and other states like it...

How about all the others?

And let me just posit something to you about your last statement.

Is that an excuse or just a joke from you?

Really? This is what you actually think, that they swept it under the run because it would "reflect poorly on those who provide abortions within the law"??

I mean to say, I have to choke down my Iced tea on that one.

When did the leftist media ever NOT report on mass shootings because it would "reflect poorly on all those gun carrying citizens who are law abiding"?
A simple google search shows that it was reported on NBC, NYT, Washington Post and CNN, among others.
Of course, you won't admit you were wrong about it...

It's like Richie to continue to deny reality by ignoring facts. He's a right wing Trumptoid who simply doubles down on a ridiculous assertion even though the facts have been plainly presented to him. We've seen it with him on everything from global warming to covid. But when a sizeable chunk of the right wing believes in the big lie that the election was stolen, not to mention all of that QAnon crap, it's shouldn't be a surprise to anyone...

The game is rigged.

I can understand the consternation on both sides of the issue. I don't like the Democratic party's position on Wall Street which goes something along these lines: 50% of the population doesn't have investments so we need to be sensitive to their needs. But what they ignore is that the other 50% does have investments in the form of 401ks or IRA's that likely do invest in equities and mutual funds that do the same. I'd argue that the latter 50% is the more productive 50% of the country so is it their obligation through their taxes to take care of the unproductive 50% of the country? And even more so at their retirement?
That said, I do want to comment on corporate greed. Example: the insurance industry in California. Many won't write homeowners insurance in the state any longer, due to wildfires attendant with global warming. Rich and company may not believe in it but the insurance carriers sure do. Basically what's happened is many homeowners in the state are being forced into what is called the California Fair Plan which is a high risk premium for fire insurance in the state. So, many homeowners have to pay TWO insurance premiums every year to insure their homes: one premium for fire and a separate premium for liability and property insurance. Meanwhile, insurance companies get two premiums instead of one.  In 2018, a particularly bad fire year in the state, the companies lost 18 billion. Seems like a lot. But even so, they took in 360 billion from the state in the same year. Many of the more well known ones have advertising budgets in the billions/year. A good portion of the latter could go to reducing the costs of providing insurance to homeowners who have to have it. Or, it could be taxed at some level to provide some funding for the other 50% noted above...
