Privacy and Abortion..

Only she knows she is pregnant.  She goes to a nearby Planned Parenthood.  How does anyone at all know if she went there for an ultrasound, ante-natal checkup, amniocentesis, some contraceptives, or an abortion?  She walks out later either still pregnant or not.  Who is to know, even if the PP location is known to provide abortions? Doesn't mean she had one...

Are there certain procedures that doctors or other medical practitioners are required to report to the authorities? Or does the the insurer notify someone if they are the ones footing the bill?

Genuinely curious about this...

Nobody else knows about except for the provider and perhaps a claim to an insurance carrier for reimbursement of said services. 
BUT, we've got states like Louisiana and others that are busy figuring out ways to shut down planned parenthood or similar providers and/or even ban birth control methods like IUDs!!!
To notify someone without the consent of the patient would be a violation of HIPPA laws...
