I wish the border with Mexico was a bit close so I could drive over the bridge like many of 'em do and get gas a whole lot cheaper!
Mexico average $4.43/gallon
California average $6.00/gallon
Paid $5.69/gallon at Costco today.

Just think Mel, California can't produce enough electricity to supply its own citizens, but yet they are pushing everyone there to get electric vehicles.

You just have to understand, that you're dealing with the mindset of Liberal and leftist Democrats here.

They don't think anything through, except when it comes to how to stuff ballot boxes, and gain votes illegally.

In THAT respect, they are more than well coordinated.

They are like a fine tuned machine.  wink
Actually, that's the problem in Texas:
https://www.texastribune.org/2022/05/13/texas-power-conservation-heat/
California will have less of a problem and when it does reduce electricity, it's more often due to reducing the risks of wildfires due to climate change and windy conditions and downed power lines.
The rest of Rich's rant is bizzaro election fraud nuttery that he and "Dinesh" are pushing along with Trump's "rigged 2020 election" HS...

All Republicans vote against price gouging safeguards on gas:

Don't even try, and it's not the pandemic or the war in Ukraine, it's all Biden's fault! Drill, baby, drill!

Yeah, who needs a windfall tax anyway when both the deficit and the debt are lower under Biden...

True the Vote tracked the cell phones of these mules using the GPS incorporated in them and they prove that mules went to dozens of drop boxes and they have some on video, and they interviewed some people about it.

Everything Dinesh D'Souza  shows in the video 2000 Mules is well documented by him.

The proof is there that sinister illegal activity went on in the battleground states.  It was well-coordinated.

Anybody surprised the Interior Sec. would not say gas prices are too high. She did not want to lie.
SHE DOES NOT THINK THEY ARE TOO HIGH!
People could save a lot of money if they voted for politicians that AGREED GAS PRICES ARE TOO HIGH.
TOO DIFFICULT?
And that's why you should vote no against Republicans who voted no on gas gouging! They don't think there's enough gouging!

I see the obvious BS in your statement since leading Dems have NOT said that gas is too cheap! Here's Pelosi and Schumer:

What policies or regulations would you specifically suggest that Biden pursue to ease gas prices?

Do you think he should, for example, reverse the moratorium on offshore drilling in the waters off both Florida coasts and off the shores of Georgia and South Carolina for 10 years that Trump signed on September 9th 2020? It was widely viewed as a political stunt in an election year anyway. Would that make you happy?

Maybe you think he should pressure OPEC to increase production? Well, Biden has pressured OPEC and other oil-producing companies to increase production. But why have they cut production so drastically? Before Trump left office in April 2022, he brokered a deal with OPEC to cut output by 9.7 million barrels per day for two years - the single most significant output cut in history. Since then, OPEC has been reluctant to increase output except slowly.

Clearly this problem is far more complex that many seem to be able to comprehend.
"Clearly this problem is far more complex that many seem to be able to comprehend."
With Mel, and his "drill baby drill" mentality,  that's clearly an understatement. Even with immediate additional and massive drilling, it would take years to have an effect on the prices at the pumps. The ONLY  immediate effect of any significant consequence at the price at the pump can only come if the Saudi's open up the spigot. And, for reasons outlined above, they're not doing it. I think the only effective way to get them to do it now is to threaten to pull our weapons systems out of their defensive lines with Iran. As Lindsey Graham noted, the Saudis couldn't even last a week against the likes of Yemen without US support so they damn well know they need us there. It would take the Saudis years to come up to speed on a Russian defense system, assuming they could even get one and that's highly unlikely at this time.

Well Mel, do you or do you not support the "drill baby drill" mantra? I think it's quite evident from your posts on the matter that you do so it does it, in fact, represent your mental point of view. That said, what is there in my post that you specifically dispute? Is it, we haven't drilled enough for you? Is it, we haven't drilled enough for you for as long as we should have? Do you dispute the Saudis are the key for lowering gas prices at the pump now? What else do you think would immediately lower the gas price at the pump now? Do you think the oil companies have a corporate responsibility in a time of warfare in eastern europe to mitigate the cost of gasoline by focusing on it instead of diesel and jet fuels in order to make even more record profits? Do support the Democratic bill that passed in the house to control price gouging at the pump?
