I think not having guns, especially like AR-15s, in the hands of maniacs, is a better one...

Nobody is stopping them. Even at age 18, they walk in to gun store and walk out with an AR15..

From Margi: "Fake meat grows in a peach tree dish"!

Best twitter comment:
"Marjorie Taylor Greene is what you get when you grow a culture of pure stupid in a peach tree dish for 9 months and then shock it to life."

We will never know.

Jim
I suppose that's why Hillary won the popular vote, because she was toxic to independents and Republicans? Huh?!
"In two key states that President-elect Donald Trump won, his margin of victory was smaller than the total number of votes for Green Party nominee Jill Stein."

HRC lost because Trump won a few key battleground states.  The EC is everything, as you know.  This is not disputable.  Why did Trump win these battlegrounds?  In my opinion, because HRC was toxic to enough Rs to tip these states to Trump.  A better D candidate would have won easily.  A stray dog with a note in his mouth saying "elect me" could have beaten Trump!

Biden won the key battlegrounds four years later because he was able to attract more R and I votes in the key states.  I suspect that 4 years of Trump had a lot to do with it too.

Oh, and lest I forget, this is my opinion!  Maybe Trump's mean tweets were the key!  Or maybe it was Russia!  There, I think I have covered my opinion and the opinions of the wingnuts.

Jim
Ah huh...
Coming back on topic, Margi is too, now claiming Canada's proposed ban on handguns will it make vulnerable to an invasion from Russia!

Consider abortion.  I personally respect the position of conservatives who believe as a matter of ethics, philosophy, or religion that human rights begin at conception.  How would this fairly standard conservative position be received by the mainstream press, the entertainment world, or liberals like Rod?  With derision is how.  I am sure that the opposite is true on many issues, which leads to polarization.  Polarization leads to Trump.

Jim
Coming back on topic, it should be noted Margi's ministrations are covered by mainstream media, so it's portion of the reporting that I read so I can stay informed and not me following her weekly tweets.
Given your statement above of, " I personally respect the position of conservatives who believe as a matter of ethics, philosophy, or religion that human rights begin at conception."  "How would this fairly standard conservative position be received by the mainstream press, the entertainment world, or liberals like Rod? "
From my viewpoint, it's obviously an incorrectly held belief, of course, for many reasons that have already been covered in numerous past threads on this subject. Moreover, I would emphasize my viewpoint that the beliefs of the conservative voices you describe essentially comes down to the will of a minority of those who are attempting to foist their view of morality on the majority of us who do not share the same beliefs...
