But damn, gas and food prices are really high, doesn't Biden have a switch in his office to fix it. He gets all of the blame, why doesn't he just use it? It's not like there is inflation happening all around the world, too. Oh, wait a minute, there is? Must be Biden's fault for that, too.
"And if the they take back the house and senate that's all we'll hear about, while they kill the Jan. 6th investigation."
True, and they will also replace it with an "investigation to investigate the investigation", too. That's what McCarthy promised the other day. It'll likely be somewhat akin to the 3-rear long investigation into the investigation of the Mueller probe with the same negative results.
That said, the DOJ can pursue its own investigation and indict Trump or his cronies because it is independent from congress. But, thus far, Garland has shown himself to be a feckless AG whose DOJ takes months to issue a single indictment even in a case as clear as that in Steve Bannon's contempt of congress charge...

"Do Democrats want to unfairly besmirch the entire GOP with the Jan. 6 disgrace, while distracting voters from 8.6% inflation and $5-a-gallon gasoline? Yes."
It should be obvious the actions of the committee and the projected date of its conclusions occurred long before the inflation and gas prices became the dominant issues of today so the opening statement in the editorial is overtly false. Additionally, it is not the Democrats that besmirched the GOP; it is the GOP that has besmirched itself by its actions in attempting to decertify the vote in the 2020 presidential election and to whitewash the January 6 insurrection as "legitimate political discourse."
Finally, leave to an editor to proclaim the outcome of the committee before the committee has presented its work. That's pretty much what I'd expect from someone whose only world they see is the one that ends at the tip of their own nose...

Another deflection from Davis from a site that ignores the total figure of people who watched at the time- TWENTY MILLION- and that preliminary figure doesn't include those who watched on podcasts and streaming services afterwards. That analysis from a site selected by Davis is a joke!

I'd expect Monday's live broadcast to have less viewers since it occurs at 10:00am when people are at work. (Must be part of the Democratic plan to divert people's attention from inflation and gas prices, just like the WSJ article suggests, don't ya think?)

Since you live in an alternate reality wherein 20 million people didn't watch the first session, it doesn't matter to you how many watch the second, now does it?...

2. Televised, hired someone to make into a series production, scripted. Long on accusations and short on evidence just like the impeachment....Mostly a bait load of Orange Man Bad, no surprises there.

3. Cheney being one of the worst, spewing forth accusations with little or no substance. Started off ranting about how Trump did not condemn the violence. Yet he did pretty much immediately during the event in a video as well as 2 or 3 tweets that was blocked on twitter and also in a Oval office address to the nation a week later....She went on to say he used the words "love in the air" about it when that was about the "Stop the Steal Rally" not about the events of Jan 6th.....

Several twitter posts condemning the violence and requesting the protest be peaceful from Trump during the event were removed by twitter as well as a video he put up from the Rose garden requesting the same.....

One of two tweets he made during the event said "Please support our Capitol Police and Law Enforcement, they are truly on the side of our country. Stay peaceful!"

The other said "I am asking for everyone at the U.S. Capitol to remain peaceful. No violence! Remember, WE are the party of law & order – respect the Law and our great men and women in Blue. Thank you!"

Both tweets as well as the video from the Rose Garden that was put up about an hour later were taken down by twitter..... I also recall watching when he was addressing the crowd and asked that they march on down to protest PEACEFULLY.....

Just the above tells me enough to understand we are witnessing a witch hunt being thrown up in desperation to keep Trump from running again.....I wouldnt be willing to bet it is going to work.
We've gone through most of Trump's response to the actions of the capitol hill mob on a past thread about it. To even state that his response was "immediate" let alone adequate, is moronic. His own advisors were imploring him to call it off and all the while he sat smiling watching it on his TV. What the hell do you think all those messages from Hannity and others to do something about it were about? Have you even read them? You don't even know what the ---- you're talking about!

Lol! Is that why we hear the rioters claiming they did what they did when they say they were doing it because Trump told them to do it?

You have to ignore 98% of what Trump did and said that day to believe that he did not encourage violence.
I'd add that Trump also said he was going to march down to the capitol with them after which he got in his limo and watched it unravel on TV in the WH. Of course what happened next was exactly what Steve Bannon and others were saying the day before that "all hell was going to break loose."

"'If you don't fight like hell you're not going to have a country anymore'
This is the longest quote from Mr Trump's speech that appears in the article of impeachment. It could also be the one that his lawyers will find hardest to defend in the trial."
"He also wilfully made statements that, in context, encouraged - and foreseeably resulted in - lawless action at the Capitol, such as: "if you don't fight like hell you're not going to have a country anymore".

It still amazes me that Greg is such an expert on the whole matter but he doesn't watch the hearings. Here's a clue for him from today's reporting on the meeting from The Hill entitled, "Trump’s Inner Circle Testifies His Claims Were Bogus":    https://thehill.com/news/house/3521715-trumps-inner-circle-testifies-his-claims-were-bogus/
Do you think Greg might get that through his head?
