Jupiter, July 21 in frustrating conditionsPosted By Paul Maxson |
Hi all,
Lots of stuff about these images. The seeing was as good as I have had at my house. The air was very steady and the humidity quite high. Unfortunately, there were clouds around and after getting very good red and green images, I got nearly socked in for the blue image. Of the 1800 frames I shot in blue, only 560 had data. That limited the number of frames I could stack for the first image. The second image was shot through passing clouds which affected the contrast of the unprocessed frames. The colour isn't right on either of the images despite all kinds of tweaking, so I decided to go for detail over colour. The second image is a bit over-sharp even though the processing was the same for both images. Anyway, this is the best I could do with the data at hand....with seeing like that I could have stayed out for an hour, but with clouds finally covering Jupiter, well you see the situation (what coulda been).
