And a lot of people thought Nixon shouldn't have resigned and/or faced impeachment, either. Afterall, it wasn't his fault his fellow Republicans in the WH finked on him...

Wall Street Journal on Jan 6 hearings

Today the Jan. 6th Committee held its seventh public hearing. You might just hear about some of it. Cipilone's testimony was damning and there was a crazy "Star Wars Cantina" meeting on Dec 18th when Trump met with a group of outside allies and advisers at the White House, including Rudy Giuliani, Sidney Powell, Michael Flynn and Overstock.com CEO Patrick Byrne. White House aides and advisors arrived later and were alarmed by the allies Trump had invited to the White House. Sidney Powell testified, "I bet Pat Cipollone set a new land speed record" to get to the Oval Office, referring to the White House counsel.

The committee showed a text from Cassidy Hutchinson, who was an aide to Trump White House chief of staff Mark Meadows about the meeting, that read, "the west wing is UNHINGED."

Later that night after 1am Trump tweeted “Big protest in D.C. on January 6th. Be there, will be wild!”

Even more troubling for old Donny:

"In closing remarks, Cheney revealed Trump himself attempted to call a witness to the select committee's investigation, and the panel turned over the information to the Department of Justice.

"After our last hearing, President Trump tried to call a witness in our investigation, a witness you have not yet seen in these hearings," Cheney said. "That person declined to answer or respond to President Trump's call and instead alerted their lawyer to the call. Their lawyer alerted us and this committee has supplied that information to the Department of Justice."

She continued: "Let me say one more time; We will take any effort to influence testimony very seriously."

Uh oh. I heard a lawyer on TV who said it was an open and shut case of witness tampering.
"I have no idea what Mel was getting at above,"
I doubt if anyone knows what Mel is getting at here, or elsewhere, because he's probably just babbling about as he looks for illegal aliens under his bed. Or illegals being signed up by Democrats, or at the local polling places to see if they're voting, etc etc...
As far as the witness tampering example goes, it's a no-go. What that person should have done is taken the call from Trump, recorded it and then presented it as evidence. What we actually have is a non-phone call that isn't evidence of anything! I can't believe that person acted in the manner that he or she did. Sheez!

It takes low IQ to fail to comprehend a commonly used expression of "looking for (fill in the blank) under one's bed."

The Rub is that this is all hearsay as well, regarding asking for a pardon.

But we can go back to the fact that they think Hearsay is better than direct testimony, but only depending on who is engaging in Hearsay.

If it is a Dem claiming the words of a Repub, then it is accurate.

If it is a Repub claiming the words of a Dem, then it is hearsay.
"If you’re innocent, why are you taking the Fifth Amendment,” Trump said"

Even Flynn took the fifth when he was asked if he believes in the peaceful transfer of power!
And Trump handed out pardons to his cronies, including Flynn and a ton of others, like he was handing out candy. His son-in-law was in charge of that, don;t you remember or do you have selective amnesia on that, too?

Gee, I read plenty of coverage about it on CNN and now I see a Fox news story today about how the "liberal media" didn't cover it! What a crock! I was just checking the Fox news site to see what they covered on today's January 6 commission meeting and couldn't find a thing...

I saw that Mel but my point is the story has been covered quite well in the media. But now that the right wing media has some read meat thrown to it by Maher, who said what he said about it in about 20 seconds, it's been on virtually every right wing site you can name as if it's front page news and proof that the NYT is BAD...

The Dems didn't write about this. It was widely reported in the news. I chose a citation from BBC in my initial post. Here's one from Fox:

If your comment pertains specifically to me, then why the pleural context?

Trump a birther.
Tweets racism.
Attacked non-whites in sports.
Tropes and dog whistle pandering.
Asked for 1-6 help from supremacist groups.

These are missing mainstream people by a country mile.
What about half the people polled just the other day who believe Democracy is dying in America?

Your nonsensical post is just that.
Beyond that, you and your fellow election deniers might be interested in knowing that your brethren in New Mexico, including "cowboys for Trump", who reside on an election commission that refused to certify the vote in their recent election because they, without evidence, don't trust Dominion voting machines, have now been ordered by the New Mexico supreme court to certify the vote:
