Here's about 1.5 hours (RGB, 30 min each). TEC140 @ F7. Atik 16HR binned 1x1. Urban shot with CLS filter in addition to color filters. I had great seeing conditions with FWHM of less than 1.3 pixels for almost all of the exposures (6.45 micron pixels @ 980mm gives 1.36"/pixel).

Flaming Star Nebula 'Raw'

I traveled to dark skies this week. Although it was bitter cold (14degrees F) I was rewarded with beautifully clear and eventually (as the night progressed) steady skies. My first subject was the Flaming Star nebula. I shot RGB all binned 1x1 at F7 thru a TEC140. The first photo has no processing at all other than averaging the subs and then combining them in AstroArt 4.0. No darks, no bias, no flats, no log stretch, no increased saturation.....no nothing.

RGB 40:40:50 ( 5 min subs for R and G, 10 min subs for B)

M81 + Integrated flux nebula

Traveled to dark skies this weekend. Shot this Sat night/Sun morning. Seeing was not the best (FWHM ~2.75-3.5" and a dew extravaganza). Given the conditions, I popped in the focal reducer and targeted M81. Next, I did my best to focus, cranked up the dew heaters and went to bed. TEC140 with AP .67x reducer. Atik16HR. Mach1GTO. Averaged 32 5 min exposures, no filters used. Processed in AstroArt 4.0 and Nebulosity.

Weird SNR

Here's 220 minutes (22x 10min)of HA (7nm) on Abell 85. (Intes MN61 with a SBIG ST-8300 binned 2x2) I was having problems with differential flexure and/or field rotation so it's pretty ugly, but I thought it was interesting enough to post. It's definitely worth revisiting. Jim, I really like the ST-8300. I did not keep my OSC camera.

Stellarvue SVQ100 (100mm/F5.8), Atik One 6.0, off-axis guider, Mach 1 GTO. L: 27x600s @ -5c. Image has been reduced to 65% of original size. Taken from near Ft. Davis, TX.

Parcorr/need more in-focus

Original message should read: With the Parcorr in place my 15" F4.5 truss dob will not allow any of my eyepieces to come to focus. I think I need to shorten my truss poles to get eyepieces to focus. Without the Parcorr, the 31 Nagler uses ALL of my in-focus...moreso than any other eyepiece I own. Any ideas on the amount I need to shorten them?

DARK skies, OIII filter, and about 100x on the Veil Nebula. You won't be able to see the entire Veil complex with this magnification but the filamentary nature of this glowing supernova debris will boggle your mind. DARK skies rule.

Really nice photo. You can even see IC 4617. At top of the picture about 4/5ths over going left to right is a small parallelogram standing on end. Look just below the bottom left star for the faint smudge.

BTW, I had a really nice view of this < mag 15 galaxy thru my buddy's 25" Obsession under pristine W Texas skies last new moon. Big high pressure system moved in and next thing you know we were living like vampires for 3 days straight.
