One shot color cameras

John I think the way you combine the images depends on the software that you use. I have a ST-4000XCM and use CCDstack. With this software I do all my calibrating and stacking before colorizing the final result. In fact with this software it's recommended the you convert the bayer pattern to its respective R,G,B, and process them individually. After you process the individual color's you then combine them for your final color image. I recommend you just spend some time with your software and experiment to see what works best for you. Texas Spiney Lizard

Ron that's a pretty cool looking lizard. I see lizards all the time climbing on things here in New Mexico. My son goes out every week and catches one for a few days then releases it. This is a Short Horned Lizard that I see every morning when I water my fruit tree's. These lizards were very common many years ago but now are rare and protected by the state. Martin

Are you sure you don't want to add a diagonal and eyepiece with that 120mm OTA and rings for $300 or would that be asking to much? Seriously I think you'll have a hard time finding a refractor in that size for $300 but who knows. If you do it will most likely be a long focal length. Martin

Rolando that sure looks like the view I had with my 12.5" cassegrain that night as Jupiter approached the meridian. I was observing as the great red spot escaped the limb. Very nice shot. Is that Ganymede and its shadow?

Any Glock lovers out there?

I have the Glock 22 and love it. I recently took a concealed gun class and when a student asked the instructor what gun to get if you needed a weapon for personal defense in any condition, sand,water you name it. The instructor held up my 22 and said " I hate Glock's, they aren't accurate but if you want a proven weapon that is used by major police departments you will want a Glock." The gunsmith then stood up and expressed his dislike of Glocks but couldn't agree more with the instructor. He said "you can take these guns out of a pile of sand and mud, chamber a load and fire." Just ask the police department in New Orleans when the hurricane hit. They pulled their guns out of mud and the guns fired. And yes they are a very good value. The trigger is just fine for me once you get use to the safety. As for accuracy, my wife and I shot the tightest group out of 12 adults but we use to fire weapons frequently years ago. I was trained by the Marines and I trained my wife. I'm not so sure that was a wise move.

Tie down solutions for roll off roof?

I have about 10 of these on my 24' long roof, works great. Google (TG-431 Latch Type Toggle Clamp) They run about $6.50 each. Hope this helps, Martin
