This is my first attempt with my new Panasonic FZ20. Telephoto set to max(432mm equiv.). Hand held with image stabilization on. I think that I would have benefitted from using a monopod.

I took this slide image(Kodachrome) in May of 1962. I copied it today with my Canon A70. This image is not enhanced in any way. There is no other mountain range quite as impressive as this one IMO.

A period of good snowmelt. L to R, El Capitan, Half Dome (10.5 miles distant), Bridal Veil Fall (620 ft. high).
The distant haze was mainly due to water vapor from pines, waterfalls, and a few campfires. Remember tent camping? Image was copied from a forty year old slide with a Canon A70.

First one I've seen in the Ft Worth area. Seldom gets north of San Antonio. Excellent eating and severely hunted in South Texas.

This photo of a Jeffrey Pine was taken in 1964 in Yosemite NP. It is growing out of solid granite and has been severely twisted by the wind that rakes the top of Sentinal Dome. Half Dome is seen at the far right.

Caught this little 3/4 inch long moth on a fan flower. The proboscis is a classic. Taken with Panasonic FZ20 in macro mode.

Close up and personal. This male had flown into a window and inadvertently posed for his picture to be taken. Upon recovery, he flew off, none the worse for his experience.
