I've had the flu for a couple days now, but am unable to sleep in because of this NOISY fellow. Just outside our bedroom window, he starts out at morning twilight and DOESN'T STOP. Felt better today, so I decided to shoot him... with the D50 and sigma bigma.

Spring blooms?

When my grandfather and grandmother passed away, my wife and I were given the opportunity to transplant some of their unique flowering plants. I took several iris, lilacs of three colors and this unique flowering shrub. Can anyone tell me what it is? The blooms are slightly larger in diameter than a quarter.

This pair was taking a rest Saturday afternoon when I noticed the lilac backdrop, and went for the FZ20. These fellows will literally fly within a couple feet of me when I'm out on the boat dock. A few droppings on my boat are a minor inconvenience when compared to the fun of watching them eat bugs on a lazy afternoon.

Cape May Warbler?

A friend and I were out fishing on Lake Michigan today when we had an odd encounter. 8 miles out from shore in dense fog a couple small birds perched on the boat. They were wet and appeared tired, maybe from being disoriented in the fog. They stayed with the boat until we came back in to dock. I looked in my guides and have concluded they are Cape May Warblers. Let me know if you think otherwise. My friend who owns the boat said this happens once in a while when birds are lost in the fog. They will act quite tame and perch on the boat for a rest. Yes, we caught fish. Four lake trout and five king salmon. Mmmm.

We've had a few flower pics show up on the Landscape forum lately. Before posting there I searched and found this more appropriate forum. Here is an Iris pic taken last week with a Nikon D50 and Tamron 24-135 pro lens. Glad to find this active group for sharing and seeing others work.
