As common as these birds are I've never been able to get a decent shot of one until today. 
20D, 200/2.8L---1/1600s @ f/5, ISO 400.

Shot these today. Still learning my new 20D---having exposure difficulties. It's a whole different animal than my DRebel. Anyway, these turned out OK.
EDIT: Upon further review, it appears I was mistaken in calling these Osprey. They are Black-crowned Night Herons. Thanks, Dan.

For those of us who enjoy reading fiction, I thought it might be fun to list your five favorite works.
In the interest of keeping the thread wide open, there are no limits to what you can choose. So long as it's fiction, you can pick any author or subject you like---fantasy, romance (yuk), science-fiction, war, peace, war and peace---whatever, even poetry. And from any era, as well. Enjoy reading Old English poetry? Is Beowulf your thing? 8O Well now you can tell eveyone what a weirdo you are. "Burning" to tell us how much you love Dante? Bring it on. Or is Jackie Collins your idea of a great companion while relaxing by the pool? Tell us.

"The Wheel of Time" series by Robert Jordan
"Frankenstein" by Mary Shelley
"The Rama" series by Arthur C. Clark and Gentry Lee
