Fox News Hosts Deposed...

Posted By Rod Kaufman

"Some of the biggest stars at Fox News have been deposed in recent days as a voting technology company presses forward in its $1.6 billion lawsuit against the right-wing talk channel."
"Lawyers for Dominion Voting Systems notified Fox News last week that it would be deposing host Tucker Carlson Wednesday, court filings show. They also sought Sean Hannity's deposition last week, and Fox Business Network host Maria Bartiromo is scheduled to appear for a deposition next week, according to court filings."

Fox responds: ""We are confident we will prevail as freedom of the press is foundational to our democracy and must be protected," a Fox News spokesperson said in a statement about the depositions."
"The network added, "In addition to the damages claims being outrageous, unsupported and not rooted in sound financial analysis, serving as nothing more than a flagrant attempt to deter our journalists from doing their jobs."

Lol! When Tucker got sued for defamation, Fox's lawyers argued he was an entertainer and nobody should take him literally and the judge agreed!
"Fox News won a court case by 'persuasively' arguing that no 'reasonable viewer' takes Tucker Carlson seriously"

And now, he's suddenly a "journalist" and protected by the 1st amendment?!

Er, ah, the speech that was given and titled was on the extremism and clear and present danger of Trump and his MAGA-maniacs. So it should come as no surprise that it didn't cover China, the border, Fentanyl, etc...
PS: The latest example of a MAGA-fanatic who got TEN YEARS for his role in the Jan 6th insurrection after being convicted by a jury of his peers:

I'm sure this won't phase the MAGA-fans on the AM or elsewhere since they continue to believe in Trump's  big lie that the election was stolen despite the fact that SIXTY COURTS threw out their frivilous lawsuits  over BOGUS election fraud....

Well, he does a lot more with his actions than just trying "to look like him":

I hope you'll take a moment to actually read these links since they demonstrate his-anti democratic plans, not to mention his active campaigning for Trump-backed election deniers like Lake in Arizona who is about as bad as it gets...

Here is the weird part.  Biden would not lean into this us-against-them polarizing rhetoric if his handlers did not think it would get more Ds elected.  Rich, you personally absolutely thrive in a climate of extreme polarization.  For you there are always good and intelligent guys (you, Darrian, and Greg).  Bad morons (Brian, James, and Rod) with very few exceptions.  (Russ?).  Anyway, you love the polarization.  Biden too is exploiting and exacerbating the polarization.  Polarization courses like life itself through Trump's very veins.

I challenged you yesterday concerning Trump's big lie that indisputably exacerbated our current level of polarization.  You never answered.

Serious question for anyone - I think political polarization is an huge threat to the fabric of this nation.  Does anyone agree with me, or is the entire political class and their constituents so invested in enhanced polarization to their world views and to drive votes, that any political discussion of cooperation and accommodation is merely insincere lip service?

I feel like a living anachronism.

If you had bothered to listen to his speech, you would heard him specifically state he wanted to make clear he was not referring to the majority to Republicans or even half or so of 'em but to those who embrace the extremism of Trump, ie the election deniers and the perps of Jan 6th, for example.

Still, if you listen to the speech, he chose his words carefully regarding who he was earmarking.
Actual words from president Biden:
"Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans represent an extremism that threatens the very foundations of our republic."
"Now, I want to be very clear — (applause) — very clear up front: Not every Republican, not even the majority of Republicans, are MAGA Republicans.  Not every Republican embraces their extreme ideology."

"President Biden on Friday said he does not view supporters of former President Trump as a threat to the country, one day after he delivered a speech describing “MAGA Republicans” as a danger to democracy and the soul of the nation."
“I don’t consider any Trump supporter to be a threat to the country,” Biden told reporters when asked about the distinction. “I do think anyone who calls for the use of violence, fails to condemn violence when it’s used, refuses to acknowledge an election has been won, insists upon changing the way in which we rule and count votes, that is a threat to democracy.”
