You then are a threat to our Democracy.

Some others here are a threat to our Democracy.

Care to address that fact?
"Care to address that fact"?
What "fact"? I'll address your delusion instead:
Democrats didn't attempt an insurrection on Jan 6th; MAGA Republicans did that.
Democrats didn't pillage the capitol on Jan 6th and urinate and defecate on its floors; MAGA Republicans did that.
Democrats didn't attack capitol police officers on Jan 6th; MAGA Republicans did that.
Democrats don't attempt to overthrow the will of the voters by staging fake electors in their place; MAGA Republicans do that.
Democrats don't attempt to overthrow legitimate elections by claiming they're rigged like MAGA Republicans.
Democrats don't bring frivolous lawsuits to 60 courts claiming bogus voter fraud; MAGA Republicans do that.
Democrats don't pass voter suppression laws; MAGA Republicans do that.
I can continue with a reality check for you but then it's lost cause with a MAGA Republican like you...

Last night was Biden targeting the hundreds who participated in the riot, or the millions who support voter ID laws?   That is my point.  Even though I obviously had better things to do than actually watch the speech, my guess is that Biden is targeting the millions.

Jim
Here's what he's targeting:

and voter suppression laws don't come down to "voter ID":

Is any minor inconvenience (mail it on time!!!) literally worthy of being called "voter suppression?"
Let's take your example of what constitutes "gimme a break" in your opinion. What if ballots were mailed in on time and were blocked after election day because of an unforeseen circumstance such as a natural disaster like a flood or wildfire or a storm that prevented delivery on time. I can think of other similar scenarios and if you or I found ourselves having our ballot blocked because of one of them,  I don't think either one of us would see the blockage of our ballots as a reasonable measure on the part of the government.

I agree that the worst thing Trump did is further divide the country with his big lie.  You are basically making my earlier point with your first link.  If we accept the polling data and I certainly do, Biden was targeting 70% of the Rs last night.  Shame on him.  He is targeting 50 million people as a "threat to democracy!!!!"  (Approximated as 70% of the Trump vote total in 2020)

Biden  campaigned as a uniter.  Now, in the face of an unfortunate economic climate he is demonizing 70% of the Rs to try to salvage an election.  There is a big difference between demonizing the Jan 6 rioters and demonizing 70% of the entire party who happen to be persuaded by the big lie.  Do you seriously think that these folks, all 50 million of them are a threat?  I do not.  I know far too many of them personally to feel that way.

Jim
That they believe in that, ie that an election process in a democracy is illegitimate, is  a direct threat to our democracy. That's the point Biden was making...

Without resorting to a flood or fire, what if in 1975, your car broke down on the way to vote.  Would you get an extension?  Heck no.  Was that "voter suppression"  No way.  Sometimes crummy things happen to individuals.

Personally, I never trust my ballot to the mail.  I have no problem with signing it, and having my signature verified (I think that signature requirements were also "suppression" according to your web page.)

I would make no exceptions to the "on time" rule, other than for overseas military or the disasters you invoke.  Timely reporting of accurate results is a very important consideration to me.
Well Jim, you may think the state legislature would make an exception in these cases but the evidence, in GOP controlled states, indicates the contrary. Take covid, as mentioned by you as an example. States did take measures to make it easier to vote to accommodate the pandemic and more people voted. That's good news. Then, when states, like Texas with GOP controlled legislatures didn't like the voter turnout, those measures were thereafter actively opposed.
With regards to voter signatures, the issue is that there's actually two signatures being required by the voter that thwarts the process of voting. Of course I have to sign my mail in ballot when I send it in California or I have to sign in if I vote in person. But I don't have to do both on two separate form to vote on one. That's the issue...

You don't see it this way, but you have literally staked out a position where a wrong "belief" is now a threat to democracy.  I think you should reconsider.  You also probably need to get out and meet some folks who believe the big lie and see what makes them tick otherwise.   Jim

p.s.  Gotta run, I hate to leave in the middle of this interesting dialog.  Have a great weekend!
Jim,
Their belief in the big lie of an illegitimate election for president undermines democracy. Whether or not they were actually a part of a slate of fake electors in their state is the same thing as your example of rioting in the streets and so forth. That they supported Trump and his team of fake electors in multiple states and/or Trump's overt efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election, even though they might not have actually been a part of a slate of electors or been in on the calls to election officials in swing states, is a threat to democracy in America. They continue to be so by voting for election deniers in various states. It's their belief system in action by doing so and that IS a direct threat to our democracy....

Bill Barr On Fox Re: Classified Documents At Mira Lago

Posted By Rod Kaufman

"Former Attorney General William Barr appeared on Fox News on Friday to say there is no "legitimate reason" for classified documents to have been at Mar-a-Lago and cast doubt in the idea that they had somehow been declassified."
"No. I can't think of a legitimate reason why they should have been -- could be taken out of government, away from the government if they are classified," Barr said of the documents found at former President Donald Trump's Florida resort."
And despite the Fox news host hoping to hear something from Barr to the contrary, Barr goes on to say:

Trump's Virtues

Posted By Rod Kaufman

Well Trump did clarify the distinguishing characteristics of the FBI and DOJ at his rally today: “The FBI and the Justice Department have become vicious monsters, controlled by radical left scoundrels, lawyers and the media, who tell them what to do,” said Trump in reference to the search that took place last month.
