Of course the judges won't be swayed, one way or another, with regards to what the youth vote will do. I didn't think it would be understood that it would be from my post. What I meant was the youth vote will look at the actions and decisions as coming from conservatives and vote their disapproval in election process.Originally Posted by James Brown

I'm sure that the judges who look at the student loan forgiveness issue will have a lot of separation of powers precedent to analyze and consider. The separation of powers is core to the Constitution and our government. I remain optimistic that these judges will not be swayed by the bolded part above, one way or the other, no matter who appointed them.
This is a lot like Dobbs. I think the federal courts will decide the law based upon precedent as they interpret it, without considering political blow-back. It is not like Alito and his fellow Justices in the Dobbs majority were unaware of how unpopular their decision would be with more than half of the voters. Jim
With regards to your statement about Dobbs, it's clear the conservative judges did NOT adhere to precedent, and couldn't give a rat's butt about how unpopular their decision might be. That's why the SCOTUS is rating so low in public opinion polls.
