Time To Take Out The Popcorn

Posted By Rod Kaufman

Why we're all waiting for the inevitable, that being Trump gouging away at DeSantis, which has already begun, and the two MAGAt's attacking each other, the GOP senate "leadership" fired its own opening salvo at one another:
"Senate Republicans let their fury and frustration out at one another during a lengthy closed-door meeting that revealed the bitter feelings left over from a crushingly disappointing midterm election."
"An at-times nasty and personal discussion took place at the Senate GOP lunch, where Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.), who have been at odds for months, traded recriminations over who was to blame for the GOP’s failure to win back the Senate."

As a result, a fractured GOP primary season without a dominant front-runner is likely to produce another Trump nomination. Until this death grip on our compatriots here is lifted, Trump is the GOP, and we are in for another dreadful 4 years of a Democratic presidency.
A couple of questions if you don't mind:
1. Would vote a Trump-DeSantis ticket?
2. Other than inflation/gas prices, what bothers you so much about having another 4 year Democratic presidential term?

I am more concerned about the nation, than my petty anger against any one politician.  You and Jim Brown apparently are more concerned about satiating your angry ego against Donald Trump, and so you'll get self-satisfaction in voting against the interests of the nation so that you can feel good about sending this nation into  the toilet, so you don't have to hold your nose and vote for Trump.

Personally, I care more about the future of the country and my nephew's and niece's futures, so I'll hold my nose and vote for someone I can't stand as I did Romney.

He's a scumbag of the highest order who cares about himself as he proved when he did not support Mike Lee over that lying Democrat Evan McMullen.

Maybe your ego and satisfying it in relation to the detriment of the nation as a whole makes you a better man in your mind?

Ok, so be it.  I'll stick with holding my nose and doing what's right and just for this nation overall.  I can live with that.  smile
"He's a scumbag of the highest order who cares about himself as he proved when he did not support Mike Lee over that lying Democrat Evan McMullen."
For starters, McMullen is an independent and not a Democrat. If anybody lied in that election, it was Lee who lied about his role in the Jan 6th insurrection...

Guys like Darian and those who like Trump don't care about Ukraine and Russia's aggression and invasion of it one bit. All they know is America first and "secure" our southern border as priority number one. Putin would have been ecstatic if the Republicans had won big time in the midterms and/or if Trump won in the next election.
But, if you corner 'em about it in this forum, the cons here will swear up and down that they don't support Putin or Russia. They just support the far right GOP and Trump whose policies do...

I'll take Biden's accomplishments over any of those so-called and highly questionable accomplishments of Trump any day and twice on Sunday:

Ah, another found guilty for his felony action on Jan 6th:
"Prosecutors said retired Air Force Lt. Col. Larry Brock, 55, spent 37 minutes inside the building, at times rifling through paperwork on senators’ desks and at one point picking up a discarded pair of plastic flex-cuffs. Brock was arrested four days after the riot.'
"On Jan. 3, 2021, he wrote, “Biden won’t be inaugurated. We will ensure that on the 6th.”
"The day before the riot, Brock wrote, “Our second American Revolution begins in less than two days.”

And when the bridges, roads and highways get fixed in Georgia, and in every other state, it's because of the Biden infrastructure bill. And if the GOP succeeds, your social security and medicare healthcare insurance will be reduced or eliminated. Still laughing?

I understand that but that's not what I was referring to, I was referring to GOP senators Ron Johnson and Rick Scott's plans to put up medicare and SS every couple of years for "review" and "sunsetting pending additional funding"...

Speaking of SS, Biden just bumped it up something like 8%.  I'm not eligible yet, but I did check the SS web page and my projected benefits went up a lot.  I guess I should say, "thanks Joe."  Bottom line though, I doubt any majority of any party is going to make meaningful cuts in SS until the whole nation is bankrupt.  When will that happen?  Hopefully not for a long time.

Jim
Dubya proposed privatizing SS but that idea sunk like a lead weight with the great recession of '08. Can you imagine what would have happened to the income of seniors dependent on SS if that had happened? "Privatizing" SS, not to mention medicare, has DeSantis and his cronies written all over it...
