HI Jim, I agree with you 100%, except for the channeling Davis part and was wondering the same thing when I was watching. They are almost as foolish as the Trump rally goers, but I did see more folks wearing masks. Also agree with Russ. After four years I sure as hell wanted to celebrate with my friends, but I'm also 62 and I don't want to get sick or spread the virus.

My friend in Phoenix who is still in the hospital with Covid was given the Trump cocktail of drugs but hasn't seen much improvement as of yet.

Update on my friend in Phoenix. He got the Trump cocktail early last week but it didn't do enough and he was put on a ventilator on Friday. Only thing I heard since then is he's a fighter and the docs/nurses are optimistic. I had another friend in the hospital for four days last week and he is now home recuperating.

A real good customer whom I would have described as a pretty mellow fellow and never would have guessed was a Trumpoid(all three of his sons have worked for me) was in on Friday and I mentioned to him that the governor was probably going to announce some restrictions and he went absolutely ballistic saying Covid is only as bad as the flu and that masks don't work.  Well, I know of two who have died from it and many more in the hospital. The flu doesn't usually send you to the hospital, let alone kill you, at least not in these numbers. Never personally known anyone who has died from the flu.

I used to live right near there in Aurora, CO back in the eighties. The mall wasn't there back there IIRC. 

One of the first Chick fil A in Michigan opened in my town at a mall. It's been there over a year and the line for the drive thru is usually 50 cars long at all times of day. I've had it once or twice on vacation down south and while they are good I wouldn't wait in a long drive thru to get one.

Nor would I wait in a line for an In N Out.

Bumping this thread with an update on my friend Keith in Phoenix. He got the Trump cocktail “cure” two weeks ago and, what do you know, he didn’t get cured. He was incubated 10 days ago and has been on the vent since then. His heart is strong but the lack of oxygen and the damage to his lungs has taken its toll and the doctors now have little hope of his survival. The kicker of this f’ing disease is he’s dying all alone. I just want to thank all the f’ing people, including the f’ing president who had the f’ing disease, for not taking the virus seriously enough. Trump had every opportunity to change the course of this epidemic and chose not to. To hell with him and all of the Covid deniers.

Thanks guys. I guess it’s just the luck of the draw. I’m just really sad and pissed off and the same time. He’s a really great guy and we had lots of great adventures when we were coming of age in the 70’s. In the past few years he even reconnected and hooked up with a good lady friend of ours from high school. He was really happy, too. 

Anyways, have a good night fellas.

Thank you guys. Keith passed away this afternoon. Very sad day around here. He just turned 63 while on the ventilator.

Thanks again fellas. I have been on the phone all day, we had close group of friends, both guys a girls, that grew up more or less on the same block. Even if we haven’t talked to each other for a long while, we can all just pick up where we left off. We are already planning a memorial service of some sort for him when this COVID crap ends. 

I am hesitant to post this pic but it is kind of funny. Remember that it was 1979 and cut off shorts were, well, short. Keith and a I were a real Mutt and Jeff, I’m 5’6 and he’s 6’6. We were loading up the raft for a float down the Salt River. In July. In the desert. It was hot. Anyways, thanks again.
