I thought the last time it went like this was in 1923 with another Republican fiasco.

It seems he's been defeated on the 8th one, too but the defeats are racking up so fast I can't keep track!

Oh, so now Boebert and Greene can carry and not be detected. No wonder they're elated...

Even if this toxic turd is elected to the speakership, there's no way he can govern effectively and, as Gaetz says, he'll be in a straightjacket and subject to the whims of the MAGA morons in the house so he'll be ousted by a minority of them if he doesn't do what they want. Basically, that means the government will be shutdown and the debt ceiling may not be increased which will initiate a default on behalf of the US government and will sink the economy in the process. But, remember, the cons on the forum don't like these clowns, just their policies...

Well, part of the pact with the devil that McCarthy made with the extremists in his party in exchange for their votes is that he will fund investigations, at taxpayer expense, with the same expense budget as the January 6th commission, to "investigate" the DoJ and the FBI. The latter push for investigations on the part of the MAGA extremists is based upon conspiracy theories off the internet and the fact that some of the MAGA politicians are, themselves, being investigated by these bodies.

Gates, Boebert, Greene can control the direction of the House with the threat of removal..

This doesn't bode well.

"One change in particular — which empowers a single lawmaker to launch the process of ousting the Speaker — is giving heartburn to lawmakers in both parties, who fear a hard-line group of conservatives will use it repeatedly to browbeat McCarthy into keeping crucial must-pass bills off the floor."
"The result, they say, will be a heightened risk of shuttering the government, defaulting on federal debts and grinding the business of the House to a screeching halt."
“I think it’s a terrible decision,” said Rep. Don Bacon (R-Neb.)."
“If one person can push a motion to vacate, we’ll do this again. How would you like to do this every week?”
"Some of McCarthy’s conservative critics have also demanded that any move to raise the nation’s debt ceiling — which allows the government to borrow money to pay its obligations — must be accompanied by cuts in the nation’s entitlement programs, including Social Security and Medicare."

All of the above is gonna look good for the GOP during election time, don't ya think?

Biden has accomplished far more legislative victories than Trump ever did, particularly in infrastructure. Pelosi is recognized by historians as having more accomplishments than others:
