SCOTUS & Chertoff

Posted By Rod Kaufman

"The Supreme Court did not disclose its longstanding financial ties with former Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff even as it touted him as an expert who independently validated its investigation into who leaked the draft opinion overturning Roe v. Wade."
"The court’s decision to keep secret the prior arrangements with Chertoff, whose professional path has intersected over the years with Chief Justice John Roberts and other court conservatives, as it used him for a seal of approval, adds to controversy over the leak investigation itself.
“It’s at least a valid question why they went to someone who had a relationship with the court. Can we be sure he is objective? That’s part of the reason for disclosures,” Sean Moulton, a senior policy analyst at the Project on Government Oversight, told CNN."

From article above:  Californians may need to take measures to conserve energy, including by avoiding charging electric vehicles, to prevent strain to the state's power grid over the Labor Day weekend, officials said—a week after state regulators voted on a plan to ban the sale of gasoline-powered cars.

Governor Gavin Newsome:

Be prepared to begin forced mandatory purchasing of electric cars soon in our Beautiful state of California.  Since our power grid now (as well as in the foreseeable future) cannot possibly handle the demand that we have currently, we are expecting the energy demand to increase 3 fold in our state when we mandate and outlaw the sales of all ICE gasoliine vehicles.

Therefore we will expect all Californians to comply with our totalitarian mandate and NOT use your air conditioning at peak times when you need it.  Please walk around naked in your homes when possible so that you can withstand the heatwave and so that you will not overload our already overloaded electrical grid.

Idiotic response from Typical leftist California Dumb-ass-crat:

"Duh.... Mr Gavin Newsome sir..... does this mean umm..... that I can't charge my electric car tonight sir... Duh...."

From article above:

California residents are being asked not to charge their electric vehicles to conserve energy amid a brutal heatwave — just days after the state announced a plan to ban sales of new gas-powered cars by 2035.

Governor Gavin Newsome:

Be prepared to see rolling blackouts in California because we don't have enough electricity to power all homes in California.  Prepare to have times of the day where we Californians will have to turn off appliances in our homes because we don't have enough electricity to provide basic utility services to our citizens. similar to Calcutta India because we didn't think ahead enough to figure out a way to supply the electricity

https://www.dailysignal.com/2020/08/28/blackouts-and-fires-caused-by-californias-ineffective-green-policies/

From the article above
:

Almost every year we do not just have a fire season, we have a conflagration. Millions of acres get scorched across the state, accompanied by mass evacuations.

Meanwhile, electricity is cut off to millions more, and the state, already reeling from an extraordinary economic decline, with the sixth-highest unemployment rate among the states, continues its pell-mell rush into the 12th Century.

Governor Gavin Newsome:

Be prepared for rolling blackouts across the state caused by wildfires and the ineffective power grid that our beautiful state of California has to endure because we at the gov't level here are your typical obtuse Democrats who can't run a corner lemonade stand, let alone the power situation of an entire state of 38 Million people.

Therefore we are urging all Californians to NOT charge your electric vehicles at night as it will be too big a burden on our already overtaxed electric grid in this state.

Idiotic response from Typical leftist California Dumb-ass-crat:

"Duh.... Mr Gavin Newsome sir..... does this mean umm..... that I can't charge my electric car tonight sir... Duh...."

P.S. How's that $25 Billion state Deficit workin' there for the Dumb-ass-crats in California?

Did any idiot in charge grow a brain yet?
As usual, facts and Davis don't mix:
"California will delay some spending commitments, reverse recent steps to shore up its fiscal health and shift funding sources to limit the cuts it must make to close a projected $22.5 billion budget deficit, Gov. Gavin Newsom said today."
"The shortfall, slightly less than the $24 billion that financial analysts for the Legislature estimated in November, will not prevent the state from fulfilling its ambitions of transforming education, homelessness, housing affordability and health care, the Democratic governor insisted."
“We’re keeping our promises,” Newsom said during a press conference in Sacramento, where he unveiled his proposed $297 billion spending plan, about 3.6% smaller than last year’s record budget. “Regardless of this modest shortfall, we’re continuing to make unprecedented investments.”

So can you point out how your statement applies?

Since I said California was going to run a deficit of $25 Billion, your article indicated what??

Here's the summary of your article link:

After years of record California budget surpluses, Gov. Newsom outlines a plan to deal with a deficit he projects at $22.5 billion. He says he can keep his big promises despite the “modest shortfall.”

Ok, so Gavin Newsome admits he IS going to run a deficit of $22.5 Billion.

And where exactly was I not familiar with the facts??

Care to explain?
Is 25 billion the same as 22.5 billion or does that fact not matter to you?

What matters is that idiot Democrats running the state claimed back in May of last year that they would be running a surplus of $100 Billion and today the state of California is going to be in a situation whereby the fiscally irresponsible morons in the state running facets of the economy and the budget were off by a full $125 Billion.

So in the grand scheme of things, when I said that Caifornia would be $25 billion in debt rather than their claims of $22.5 Billion, that's only a factor of 10% or $2.5 billion, which is a far cry from the inaccuracy to the tune of $125 Billion that the Democrats lied about.

Furthermore I could right on the money, when I offered up the figure of a $25 Billion deficit, or I could have been incorrect and the deficit could be even greater than $25 Billion, since all we have to go by now is the lying sack of shit named Governor Gavin Newsome, who apparently isn't capable of balancing his checkbook and now we're supposed to trust the numbers he's spewing out of his piehole?

Then again, as I stated previously, you're so gullible as to believe anything the lying sacks of shit in your political party feed your peabrain.

So just because Governor Gavin Newsome spews numbers out of his mouth, doesn't mean they are accurate or factual in the least.

It could be that the dipshit leftist Democrats running your state will end up with an even bigger deficit than they are claiming today,

One thing is for sure, you in all of your stupidity will believe anything they tell you to believe now won't you?   smile
"That fact doesn't matter one wit to me."
Yeah, what a couple of billion to a big spender like you, anyway?
I bet you're glad to know Chevron's profit exceeded the previous year to a record 35 billion. Bet you're hoping for more right?
And the Democrats didn't lie about a surplus, some years go up and some years go down. Florida had a similar circumstance but they've fared a bot better from the infusion of federal dollars for covid relief that the fstate Republicans virtually denied existing in their state; talk about liars...

I'm just happy to know they're financing the CEO:
"Mr. Wirth owns over 2,124 units of Chevron stock worth over $365,201 and over the last 17 years he sold CVX stock worth over $0. In addition, he makes $33,070,700 as Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer at Chevron."

Why should you be able to own stock in a company?  Maybe the gov't should come to your house and buy you out at whatever rate they deem your stock and bonds are worth.

Then again, being the forum communist I'm sure you're jealous of anyone else who makes more than you.

But of course, for you it is OK to own stock right?

Remind us again how many paychecks you've signed for your employees?

0 right?  You've never paid the FICA, or a paycheck for one other person in your life, ever.

So you're basically a zero who has signed a paycheck for zero people in his life.

Got it.  smile
