That's the news I was hoping for and I had already posted it under Richie's "Welcome To Karizona" thread but it certainly deserves a thread of its own!
And Keri Lake, being as delusional as she is, had already met with her "transition team" to take over the governorship before the votes were all counted!

A Republican Senator Makes The Call On the Leader Of the GOP

Posted By Rod Kaufman

“I’m saying currently, Ron DeSantis is the leader of the Republican Party, whether he wants to be or not,”
Er, ah, if he doesn't want to be, how does that make him the leader?
"Asked by a reporter for Politico whether she would endorse Trump, Lummis replied: “I don’t think that’s the right question.”
Really? He's supposedly going to announce tomorrow.
Sen. Cynthia Lummis (R-Wyo.), obviously brilliant with gifted insight...

And she, and another GOP senator, who represent the 578,803 who live in Wyoming, have the same voting power in the senate as the two senators from California who represent 39.24 million. Now that's representation...

Lol!
Here's what Dubya will be remembered for: 1. Leading the nation into a needless war in Iraq and destabilizing the middle east by doing so. 2. Presiding over the great recession, the greatest financial collapse in America since the great depression. Well, he did say he was sorry...

Yup, that electoral process has worked out real well in recent times, usurping the will of the people by electing such disasters as Dubya and Trump, contrary to the massive votes of the people as represented by the popular vote...

Dave,
If you read the opening post in this thread, you'd know Ron is the leader whether he wants to be or not, so it follows he will be the nominee.
Trump, being the sociopath that he's always been, will press the attack on DeSantis after he declares on Tuesday but it's unknown if he'll run as an independent. Either way, he's the gift that keeps giving. Unfortunately, DeSantis is Trump with another name, so MAGA is the same...

The United States Dictator in Chief gets shut down again.

He has no more basis in his 'executive' position to MAKE a law like that, than he does to decide to wave his hand and forgive the mortgages of the American People.
I never said it was up to judges to MAKE laws so where you came up with that feigned outrage is somewhere in the depths of the neuron mass enclosed in that thick skull of yours.
I don't recall you having any problems with the 220 executive orders Trump issued. And the courts ruled against Trump policies 70 times. So stow your dictator-in-chief BS...

This is a lot like Dobbs.   I think the federal courts will decide the law based upon precedent as they interpret it, without considering political blow-back.  It is not like Alito and his fellow Justices in the Dobbs majority were unaware of how unpopular their decision would be with more than half of the voters.  Jim
Of course the judges won't be swayed, one way or another, with regards to what the youth vote will do. I didn't think it would be understood that it would be from my post. What I meant was the youth vote will look at the actions and decisions as coming from conservatives and vote their disapproval in election process.
With regards to your statement about Dobbs, it's clear the conservative judges did NOT adhere to precedent, and couldn't give a rat's butt about how unpopular their decision might be.  That's why the SCOTUS is rating so low in public opinion polls.

The case is under appeal and that's part and parcel of the legal process in this country. The Biden administration expected court challenges and the same happens in any administration for a variety of issues and that doesn't mean that a sitting president is a dictator if and when that happens.
And leave it up to some conservative Trump-appointed judges to block it after being spurred on to do so by a few conservative states. And that'll continue to go over big with the youthful vote which broke overwhelmingly for the Democrats in this election, don't you think?
