Sunspot group AR11040 from January 12

Hi all,

I took a look at AR11040 today and WOW!! it is a totally awesome group. Finally a group that has some character. Here are three images of it, one in white light and the other two using my Lunt LS100S H-a filter.

I have some from yesterday, but I wanted to get these out today. They were shot with a Skynyx 2-0m, processed with Avistack, wavelets in Registax and a tiny bit of smart sharpening in Photoshop CS3. As if on que, we are expecting clouds tomorrow...

Hi all,

The clouds have not been too cooperative for me this month, but when they do part, the seeing has been pretty good. Mars looks quite cloudy in this image.
