Vibration Pads suggestion

Posted By Paul Maxson

If I was going to put anti-vibration pads under my EM200 mount, does anyone have a suggestion as to which set would work best? The mount carries a Mewlon 250 which I use for high power planetary imaging.

Thanks!
Paul

Mars March 26

Posted By Paul Maxson

Hi all,

With the help of my brother-in-law, we obtained these images of Mars from March 26. Yes, he is an amateur astronomer as well, and owns a Meade 8" SCT.

Possible new spot (storm) on Saturn

Posted By Paul Maxson

Hi all,

After processing the red image I made of Saturn last night I saw what looked like a new spot(s). The location is (my very rough guess) about 350-355 degrees in System II, as I recall the older storm is about 295-300 degrees. I'm posting the RGB image as well as a two frame animation.

Seeing obviously was very good!

Thanks for looking.

Hi all,

I just created a Yahoo group called "Flea3". Actually the group is designed to discuss ICX618 based cameras and software. It's my first Yahoo group, so be gentle.

Hi all,

Here is a Jupiter from August 28 showing the merging of the two ovals. Wow, from now until October 11 Jupiter will be larger than 49"!

CGE-Pro - Wheelie bar or Scope buggy?

Posted By Paul Maxson

I'm thinking about getting a C14 on a CGE-Pro mount in a few months. Does anyone have suggestions about using wheelie bars or a Scope Buggy with this setup? Which is a favorite, pros and cons, etc? I just want to be able to move the mount onto the patio once in a while when I need to do yard work...maybe 30 feet. My physical condition precludes me tearing it down and setting it up each time.

Thanks!!

Mewlon 250 mirrors recoating

Posted By Paul Maxson

I know I could call to find out, but I also thought I'd ask in here. I've had my Mewlon for 6 years now with very heavy use. I am thinking the mirrors could use re-coating. I wonder if TNR can do the coatings? The biggest problem with being a planetary imager, there really isn't any down time to do this so I'd have to plan carefully.

Thanks!!
