WHen the left 1st went nuts over getting them banned my thought was sure, go ahead and ban them, they need a win LOL
Well, it seems the mass murderers who use ar15s don't really need an auto mode anyway since they usually kill all of their victims in less than a minute given the accuracy afforded by the pull-the-trigger-as-fast-as-you-can with the capacity clips that come standard with those rifles...

That would be Transgender people.

The latest mass school shooting was done by a Transgender person, and she killed 6 people.

There was a nightclub here in Colorado Springs where a Transgender person killed 5 people and shot another 19.

In Colorado Springs, a transgender 19 year old person was arrested for having a manifesto where "they" planned to shoot up several schools and murder kids.

Seems like there is a commonality between these murderers and planners of murder.

They are all transgender.  Perhaps we need to outlaw transgenders, as it appears that those committing murders who are transgender is on the rise.

We definitely need to start criminalizing transgender people because in the last several mass shootings in this country, the majority were committed by transgenders.

Obviously there is a serious connection with people becoming transgender and then committing mass murder.
And there are plenty of other mass shootings with ar15s where the shooter is not transgender.
"One set of statistics, from the Associated Press, USA Today and the Northeastern University Mass Killing Database, found that AR-15s have been used in ten of the 17 deadliest mass killings in the US that have taken place since 2012."
"These incidents include the 2017 mass shooting in Las Vegas that left 60 dead, as well as the Sandy Hook Massacre in Newton, Connecticut that killed 26 people - including 20 children."
"Another database, kept by Mother Jones magazine, suggests that the culprit in the Louisville shooting was the seventh to use an AR-15 in a mass shooting in the last 11 months."

And that was despite the fact that the guy had a history of mental illness.  Then the guy goes and kills 3 people and not one leftist/communist like yourself wants to mention that fact.

Seems to me that the proximate cause of the deaths of the 3 individuals at the University is the Democrat DAs who let these violent criminals out of jail.

There seems to be a pattern here of DEMOCRAT DAs letting violent criminals out of jail, where they then go and commit more violent crimes.

Someone needs to pass a law outlawing DEMOCRAT DAs.
"Someone needs to pass a law outlawing DEMOCRAT DAs. "
Along with transgenders, too?...

The smart response to the stupid person who wrote the above is this:

And there are plenty of other mass shootings where an AR-15 is not used and a handgun is used instead or any other weapon.

Which of course the DS in California is too stupid to realize, let alone understand that.
And that response somehow negates the fact that mass murders committed by shooters equipped with ar 15s who aren't transgender means transgenders are the problem?
Only in the demented mind of an obtuse moron...

(I realize what a moron I am to pose a serious question here, but I have the time to do it)

Lots of reasons:
Lack of required training in the use of firearms
Freedom of access to mentally ill people
Concealed carry without permits
Open carry without permits
Accessibility of Ghost guns
Accessibility of assault rifles and or high capacity magazines
Perpetual resistance of elected Republicans to any meaningful gun safety legislation, including freedom of access of guns to mentally deranged people.
Permeation of a gun culture in red states that have the highest gun related deaths in the country.

In terms of doing anything about the various reasons listed in my prior post, it's essentially the GOP mantra of give 'em more guns that makes them more plentiful and that, coupled with their support of any appeals and or obstruction of common sense gun laws, background checks and the like, makes it exceedingly difficult to do anything anywhere.
That, and a SCOTUS judge by the name of Clarence Thomas, whose rulings are forcing lower courts to interpret current guns laws based upon gun practices back in 1791, causes any meaningful gun laws to be stymied in the courts...

Guns and gun violence are part of the fabric of our nation.   Some level of violence is not going to change any time soon.   We have a ton of common sense gun regulations now.  Background checks and the like.   Over half the population owns guns legally and never commits a crime of any sort, So I personally do not think additional regulations are the answer.

If someone in the US wants to commit suicide with a gun, and they are not already a felon, it is pretty easy to get a gun and do the deed.  This is an unfortunate side effect of citizen gun ownership.  We also have a huge quantity of illegal guns in the US.  So if a criminal wants to skip the background check process, and acquire a gun illegally, I suppose that is easy too, for the criminal types.   Mass shootings in places like schools get all sorts of press.  No simple gun regulation is going to stop these sorts of shootings.  It is already illegal to shoot up a school of course.  Some regulations on the edges might be useful, but not much, in my opinion.  We need better mental health care maybe, and the schools, parents, kids and everyone else need to be vigilant.   The FBI spells it out here:  https://www.fbi.gov/file-repository/stats-services-publications-school-shooter-school-shooter

So why are gun laws so popular on the left and gun rights so sacred to the right, especially in the immediate aftermath of a shooting?   I think this is just another example of extreme polarization causing otherwise day-to-day rational people to take positions that are not particularly helpful when addressing a problem, but which are certainly calculated to piss off the "other side" the most.   I say "calculated" intentionally.   The left would ban all sorts of weapons not because it is going to save kids, but because it pisses off the right.  Any sort of regulation, no matter how rational is a non-starter on the right.  Does the right not care about school safety?  Of course they do, but a staunchly defended and entirely inflexible stance on any gun regulation whatsoever really does piss off the left.   I see it here between you and Rich or you and Greg anytime guns come up.   There is no middle ground, so no progress of any sort can ever be made.  J
"In his Bruen decision last June, Justice Clarence Thomas ordered courts to assess the constitutionality of modern-day gun restrictions by searching for “historical analogues” from 1791, when the Second Amendment was ratified."

That said, I'd rather not take my chances facing down an ar-15 with its standard 30 mag clip that someone can legally tote down the street in some states that Josh Hawley defends because his friends want to use them "for sporting." That's why real progress can't be made....

Yeah, that'll work well.  What a GD idiot.
Yeah having more people having access to healthcare prevents people from becoming sick and treating those who are sick and will now have insurance to cover it takes the costs of doing so off of hospitals and our healthcare system. Obviously, an obtuse moron can't think that far...

Let's put more people on it so that it becomes insolvent faster.
For the obtuse moron:
Dreamers aren't covered by medicare since they're underage for it. What they will be able to do is purchase insurance through the affordable care act which they previously hadn't been able to do. And you aren't entitled to free medicare even though one's age may qualify for it. If you didn't contribute during your working years, then you'll have to pay a premium in order to get it...
