How do you get color from B&W and RGB filters

Posted By Edward Nash

I am trying to understand how using a B&W CCD and RGB filters do you get a color photo...Because wouldn't all three photos be B&W even though each one is shot with a different color? Or do you colorize them?

Please explain....

tripod for ETX60

Posted By Edward Nash

My girlfriend's son has a Meade ETX60 and the scope is nice but the tripod should be an embarresment for Meade...what a POS it is....and likewise very discourging for the young man. My question is...is there an aftermarket tripod for the Meade ETX60 or a solution? I tried searching the web but no luck...

thanks for your help

Eclipse progression

Posted By Edward Nash

OK I am new to eclipses and have a question about how it progresses...

Is it...as 2nd contact finishes

Diamond Ring >Bailys Beads >Totality >Bailys Beads >Diamond Ring >3rd contact?

Also with this Annular eclipse May 20th...I assuming I will still need a solar filter all the way through...I will be photographing it with my 5" Vixen R130Sf scope...

Thanks!
