Nexstar 6SE Directional Controls

Help!!! Newbie with a new Nexstar 6SE.
The directional controls on the hand paddle are reversed. Manual instructions do not seem to help. Anyone have a solution?

Teegul with Lapides mod-anyone using it?

So far, I have trid the Telepod, Panoramic, Gilbralter, Giro DX and TAK Teegul/Lapides mounts with my TAK FS-78. The TAK Teegul/Lapides is the clearly the keeper. Most stable, smoothest motions and the slow motion controls are excellent for high power planetary viewing. I do reccommend the use of a good wood tripod with any of these mounts. It will significantly enhance the set-up's stability.

C14 vs. Starmaster 14.5"

I went through a bunch of scopes and expense before settling on the SM 14.5 GoTo for the following reasons;

1) Exceptional Optics (CZ Mirror)
2) Extremely well engineered and thought out design (i.e. removeable mirror cell and Hybrid Truss design)
3) Elegant, quality construction
4) No ladders (I generally sit on a bar stool)
5) Light weight components for travel
6) FAST set-up and take down (less than 10 minutes including collimation)
7) Sky Commander/Sky Tracker System is easy to use and very accurate

I live and observe in Southern New England which probably has similar sky conditions to yours. Spending 1/2 hour plus to haul out and set-up a large equatorial mount, get it aligned, etc. was just too much of a back breaking pain. The 14.5 SM has improved my observing pleasure immensely.

TMB 7" Fluro-Brite?

I had the TMB 7" mounted on an AP900 GTO and it was rock steady. The scope with rings, finder, etc. is in the 55lb range well within the load spec for the 900.

41MM eyepiece caps caps from Orion Telescope are just slightly too large and the 38mm are too small.

I found that a thin piece of duct tape wrapped inside the lip of the 41mm cap worked perfectly and looked like any other eyepiece cap.

Eyepiece case

Try www.foamrubber.com. This a foam specialty store in Boston. They sell a product called "Ester Foam" which is used in camera cases. It comes in a variety of thicknesses and they will precut (case size) to order. I've had good success with soaking the foam, freezing it and then cutting the eyepiece holes with a serrated knife.

Floyd's right. The best option is to contact Televue and let them do it. From personal experience (OOOPS)I know that they've dealt with this issue many times.
