Field flattener for Mak 7

Posted By Karel Ebert

Can anyone with first hand experience tell me if a focal reducer would be a worthwhile addition to a Mak 7?

Nextstar 4 equatorial mode

Posted By Karel Ebert

Has anyone been able to get the Nexstar (actually I have a Tasco) computer to align itself on the equatorial wedge/tripod? I tried to follow the directions in the instruction manual (point north, turn down 90* and enter your latitude and 89* W longitude) which call for you to fool the computer into thinking its on the north pole. I hasn't worked? What does?

What I found works is to replace the hand control with the current Celestron version and use the "Two star alignment" option.
