Has anyone gotten thier 10" lxd 55 yet and is it a good scope? I have read reviews on the net and it sounds like a good scope. I just want to make sure it is worth the wait.

I was wondering if anyone has tried to mosaic together a complete Northern or Southern Hemisphere sky using low magnification. (note: complete novice here but trying to catch up!) Thought it would be a good project to learn the sky. Set up my low power telescope and take pictures and put them together in a photo editing software? Anyone?

I have an meade lxd 55 10" and had to send back the mount because of an electrical problem. I'm assuming this is going to take a while to ship me another mount. So I was thinking I could play around using a dob mount. Any suggestions, or web sites that have easy to follow instructions?
