Astrophotography using Achro

Posted By David Fenstermacher

I know this has been bounced around, but I have a specific question.
Given that a re-focus is needed between filters, I am wondering if anyone has had success using filter offsets.
Specifically, thesky and ccdautopilot provide for filter offsets and I've used them before - but never on an achro.
I am trying to avoid re-focusing between filters and characterize my imaging focus positions and then let the software move the focuser for each filter.

Does this work out Ok for an achro?  I have a chance to purchase a 127mm at f6, but wanted to check before I write the check.

Thanks All,
Dave
