OTA Quality

Posted By Art Morton

I am looking for feedback on SCT OTAs’

a. Celestron 9.25
b. LX200 OTA w/UHTC

I want a tube to use for visual (bright enough to see…NGC7331…dark site…) and CCD Imaging (round stars, flat field…or whatever you can do with an SCT… deep shot and color imaging). I want to image the faint stuff and planets. I want the set up to be semi-portable. Which one would you put on your Losmandy G11 and why?

Thank you for your comments.

Focal Reducers for ED Refractor

Dear Sirs,

Will this product:

Correctly work with these products, providing there is approprate(factory recommended) spacing between the Field Flattner Lens and the CCD focal plain? If so, why? If not so, why not?

I am making a non technical assumption that if the Field Flattener, Focal Reducer is made for a specific focal length, and that it does not matter what scope it goes on as long as the focal lenghts match or are close. Is there a "Rule of Thumb" of how to match FF/FR to a refractor or does the FF/FR design need to match a particular lens design?

Thank you,

A

My MI-250, all set up!

Posted By Art Morton

Floyd,

To my surprise a MI250. Larry is impossible to resist. Have you posted likes and surprises with the new mount? Please feel free to send me information direct. I am looking forward to seeing the tracking data at any focal length.

So, what pushed you over the edge? Did you just move your Gemini, already set to Mi250, from the Losmandy to the Gemini? Thanks for all the Losmandy Support!
