when i had mine in a small observatory my biggest problems were dust and spiders...whatever size structure you put it in,cover the tube ends well....those eight leggers built webs fast inside the tube

not to be depressing ,but i would be interested to know if anyone reading this has ever had a stolen item found and returned....i have had a bicycle,a motorcycle and a cedar strip canoe stolen in separate events and i NEVER heard about an investigation and of course i did not get them back and then had to bargain with the insurance etc ...i filed a report with the police and that seemed the end ....am i the only one .....thanks

i read the A.P. report .....free speach is one thing but that was uncalled for......just remember that all canadians are not crude like that....we may not always agree but we know who our friends are..

Inexpensive used motorcycle/scooter advice?

Posted By reg mcmichael

i have had a few bikes in my time ,starting with a new 1975 125 honda,a 69 triumph 500,a 1978 550 honda ,a 1980 900 honda custom, and now a 1978 750 honda........the triumph was not dependable for day to day,but the hondas were....none were water cooled but i live in canada and don't have l.a. heat and traffic........you should have a decent size bike for the highway.being underpowered or too light will get you blown around in the wind or swamped by the wash from a transport.....if you can the ideal would be to take a course, get used to the bike under good conditions stay out of the rain for a while and watch the oil slicks at the stops....my whole course consisted of having the owner of the bike shop run beside me while i shifted gears and went into traffic...ahh those were the days oh yeah ..watch the car drivers ,you will be amazed at how you are invisible to them,

i don't have a gps scope but do have 2 handheld gps units..this may be an obvious question, but did you have a chance to use it outside, since my gps needs to have a skyview and will not locate sattellites indoors..just a thought...
