I would like to hear from anyone with viewing experience with a 8" sct and then moved up to a 10" sct. Is it worth the $600., - the extra weight and will I see a significant difference to justify the cost and added weight?

Also, can you really see any difference with the new UHTC coatings?

I live in Melbourne, Fl. and we have moderate light pollution.

I'm trying to get advice before the Meade deal ends.

Since Celestron's & Meades's SCT are similar scopes in design, how come meade's scopes are not Fastar compatible?
Is there an aftermarket fix for this?

And last question, what are the adapters required to get from a C-Mount CCD camera to 1.25" or especially 2.0 inch focuser? (my scope is an LX200).

Inquiring mind wants to know !

I'm seriously considering an LXD55 SN10 but what has been holding me back is that I have not really heard much about these scopes. The concern I have is the massive size of the OTA and the minimum size of the mount to tripod area. It's a little windy in these parts and it sure looks like the 10" would oscillate in virtually any breeze.

Your comments and experience in comparison to other scopes you have owned would be greatly appreciated.
