dear friends,I am looking for a telescope that is easy to use, light in weight and quality optics. I guess I want everything.I have seriously considered an 8" discovery dobson, celestron nexstar5, meade 125etx, meade lx90 8 inch.......the meade ad for the lx90 really pulled me in. Then someone mention tele-vue optics are out of this world. Keep in mind I have a wife and two kids. A telescope that takes one hour to set up means I won't be viewing many stars. The more I research the more I get confused. Please help me you wise experienced star gazers!!!!!!!

I bought this refractor sunday. Will put together wednesday (two days from now). I will be back to give reviews on Sunday. I physically went to a dealer in New York City and picked it up. Any eyepieces or filters reccommended for a 5 inch refractor. All these forum comments about meade being sued have me on edge.

wow! friday night late. saw a steady mars in great detail.
poconos PA area was crystal clear. i couldn't believe the detail. it was worth waiting all the cloudy nights and comments from wife about never using expensive telescope. the plastic diagonal does need replacing any suggestions

my dew shade cover for my 5'' meade is cracked how do i get a new one or find a substitute??

i have a 5'' meade refractor how do i pack for move???

bubble wrap and personnally move it myself????
