Here's a picture of my workhorse Pronto with Thousand Oaks filter in place at Ala Moana Beach Park in Honolulu. We watched the partial eclipse on October 14, along with a crowd of astronomy students from the University of Hawaii. I must have had 30 or 40 people look through through my 'scope during the hour between when the eclipse started and sunset - random beach-goers and Japanese tourists. It was really quite cool - the sun set at just about maximum eclipse. The sun was noticeably egg-shaped in the eyepiece as it got down within a degree or so of the horizon, then there were some really cool refraction efects as it touched the horizon. To cap it off, there was the brightest green flash I'd ever seen as the cusp of the crescent sun sank below the horizon.
Great fun!
