DSC

what is the concensus for DSC units. I am running a C-11 on a G-11. have never had DSC but am definitely looking and listening around for some advice

I am very interested in trying out some CCD imaging, since the things I love most about astronomy are the deep sky objects (and the planets). I already have a Macintosh laptop. So I am wondering if any of you use a Mac for imaging? If so what equipment do you use? Is the door open for Macs? How would someone like myself get started with the task of CCD imaging? I have a C-11 scope on a G-11 mount. I would also like to do some h-alpha imaging of the sun. Any suggestions?

When purchasing filters ( OIII, UHC, etc...) for a C-11 scope what is the best route as far as size. Should one buy the 1 1/4", 2", or visual back mount? What are the advantages/disadvantages of each model?

C-11 eyepiece & accessories?

What are good eyepiece choices for a C-11? I will be receiving a new C-11 sometime soon and am wondering about eyepieces. 1 1/4" or 2"? Radian or Nagler? Powermate or Barlow? Focuser? Any accessories I definitely need or definitely do not need? I will be doing mostly visual (especially DSO's), but I can see myself trying some imaging in the near future. I am really looking for some suggestions and advise.

Was just wondering if anyone here uses Apple/Macintosh computers for CCD imaging? I am very interested in trying my hand at imaging, but I own Apple computers. It looks like all the CCD equipment is made for PC's. I guess I'll have to buy a PC?

SCT or Refractor?

If you had the choice of a SCT or Refractor, which one would you choose? Why?
I know this sounds silly but I am under the notion that aperture is everything. Bigger is better!
Believe me, I am very new to astronomy and am looking for an education I just want some educated discussion on the subject.
