Has anyone been pouring over those catalogs from Orion, packed with all kinds of low cost telescopes? I am having
trouble deciding between the 3.9" f6 Astroview refractor
and the 4.7" f5 model. I am looking for multifunction
scope that can work as a rich field, solar, and medium
power star splitter. It would be nice if it could show
the shadow of Jupiter's satellites on the disk, too. I have heard that the late model refractors from China are
better than the early models, but I don't know for sure.
Can someone comment on one or more of the above models?
At first I liked the 4.7" f8.3 refractor on the new beefy
mount but I would like to have 3 degee field for rich field
viewing. Thanks

I received an email from FEDX but it shows only that a
shipping label has been generated, the scopes have been delayed because of absent parts for the mounting rings.
So I guess it will be another week or two before they acutally get shipped. The estimated package arrival date is
NOT VALID at this time. At least we can check FEDX and track the package when it finally ships. (info from yahoo Burgess group). FYI
