Help to complete my ep's set

Posted By Fernando Martins

I have a Nexstar 5i and these eyepieces:
6mm, 17mm, 25mm and 40mm (all Celestron Plossls), and also a Barlow Ultima 2x.
I'm thinking about a 9mm UO ortho or a Siebert standard 10mm (due to the 65º AFOV) to complete the high power range and a Siebert 21mm standard (because of the 75º AFOV, is this possible ???), a Meade's 4000 SP 32mm or a Celestron Ultima 30mm for the low power range.
I know the very good perfomance of OU ortho's, Meade's 4000 SP and Celestron Ultima's but really don't know about the real off axis performance of Siebert's standards (astigmatism, coma, false color)
I'm also thinking about a 0,63x FR and wish to know if the eyepieces above work well with this reducer.
I really would like to know your opinions and please feel free to make any other suggestion (but please not Naglers or very expensive ep's).

Regards,

Martin

Filter coating durability

Posted By Fernando Martins

On the contrary of eyepieces it seems the coating for filters (Lumicon, Orion, etc.) is not so durable.
What is the lifetime for filters as a rule considering the due care and regular use?
Thanks for any information.

Celestron star diagonal

Posted By Fernando Martins

I'm a little confuse about this diagonal, the part number is 94115-A (Star diagonal).
Is this a mirror or a prism diagonal ??

Thanks,
Fernando

Winged eyecup

Posted By Fernando Martins

Does somebody knows if this eyecup fits on older TV Plossl's 13 and 17mm (made in Japan and without eyecups) ?
Where I can find a "low profile" eyecup like that ?

Thanks,
Fernando

Orion Mirror diagonal

Posted By Fernando Martins

This Orion diagonal (model 8778) looks like the same one that Televue sells for a higher price.
Does somebody knows if the optical performance is the same for both ?

Celestron Ultima 35mm eyecup

Posted By Fernando Martins

I bought one used but it came without the eyecup.
Scopestuff and Orion sell a winged eyecup but it doesn't fit in the Ultima 35mm due to the large size of the lens.
Where can I find this eyecup ?
