Meade tripod feet distance

Before I buy a Meade field tripod, could someone please tell me what the distance is between the feet with the tripod in it's lowest position.

I need to know if an open tripod will fit in a 4 foot square area.

I'm waiting to hear also. I saw a bunch of them on a counter at Oceanside Photo and Telescope and even read the box, but I didn't buy one. Since they seem to be readily available, I would think we'd hear something soon.

Seems fair to me also. Both have about the same price used and the mount on the LX50 is better IMHO.

I have an LX200 10" Classic and my views are also high brightness and low contrast. I'm sure there's some filter that would help, but I don't know what. I'd be interested in hearing from others too.
