Snowy Egret

Posted By Paul Casper

This is my first posting to this forum, so I'm a little nervous in such august company. I've been digiscoping for a couple of years, and have tons of photographs. This one was taken at 86X magnification using my new TeleVue 85 with a Pentax 21 mm XL eyepiece, and Nikon CP4500 camera. I just purchased the TeleVue as an upgrade to my trusty Pentax, which I have been extremely satisfied with. I hope you enjoy the photo.

Little Green Heron

Posted By Paul Casper

Here's a little green heron that likes to hang the small lake that borders my back yard. I think he likes to pose for pictures. This one was taken with my Pentax PF-80ED, 21mm Pentax eyepiece and Nikon CP4500 camera.

Here's a handsome Northern Pintail, taken at the wildlife refuge near Cape Kennedy. Lots of 'em visiting this time of year. Pentax PF-80HD/21mm EP/CP4500.

Great Egret in Mating Season

Posted By Paul Casper

I got this shot last year during egret mating season, which accounts for the lime green color. Also, I had a bit of vignetting, which in this case added a nice effect to the image. Pentax PF-80HD/21mmEP/CP4500.

First Keeper with New Camera!

Posted By Paul Casper

Couldn't stand it....I had to post my first keeper with my new Canon 10D and 400mm f/5.6L lens. I went out to take pictures within 20 minutes of unpacking (the battery came with a charge). This fellow agreed to pose in the lake behind my house, very late in the afternoon. The shot was hand held, at ISO 800. I feel like a kid on Christmas morning.....I'm gonna have a ball with this thing!

Skimmer Squadron

Posted By Paul Casper

Just got back from a 3-day birding vacation, and couldn't wait to share this photo. My wife and I happened on hundreds of Black Skimmers yesterday on a remote beach, with the light just right and the birds in just the right position. This was taken with the Canon 10D + 400mm/5.6 lens, hand held. Hope you like it. I am REALLY starting to love this camera/lens combination!

Got into a bunch of redwing blackbirds today and managed to catch this fellow fluffing his feathers. Nothing special....I just liked the colors. Canon 10d + 400mm/5.6 handheld.

Crabby Crow

Posted By Paul Casper

Caught this crow just after takeoff. Nothing special...I just liked his expression. Used my Canon 10D + 400mm/5.6, hand held.

The average image quality on this forum lately has been amazingly good. My hat's off to all you posters, and I am inspired to work harder to keep up!! Keep those great photos coming.

Osprey Chow Time

Took this yesterday near Crystal River, FL. He was so interested in his breakfast he could have cared less about the annoying photographer. (10D, 400mm/5.6 lens)
