powermate vs televue 2x barlow

Televue Panoptic Big Barlow Interface

Does anyone know if this will work with any low power 2" eyepiece? I have a 31mm proxima and a 1.5X proxima barlow and want it to work with the 31mm. Right now i get a lot of vignetting and too much eye relief. If you have any experiece with this please help me out. Thanks

Hydrogen Beta Filter Question

I have a 10" dob and i am considering getting a hydrogen beta filter 2" for my 30mm eyepiece. First does anybody know if i can detect the horsehead nebula in a 10" scope with this filter? If so would i be better off getting a 1.25" filter for my higher power eyepieces. I don't know if the filter would work better with low power or higher power. I would appreciate your experiences. Celestron C4R refractor ?

I was thinking on getting one of these and wandered if any one could give me an idea as to what to expect optically . I have looked at the reviews but most of them are getting rather old. Are they worth the money? Any new reviews or informarion would be appreciated. Thanks

Baader fringe killer moon sky glow combo ?

I seen some reviews on this combination and sounds really good. Does anyone know how it works on planets? Does it give a natural view of saturn or jupiter? How much does it cut down on light transmission? I have seen the review on cloudy nights where he does the light bulb example but would like some real observing experience with it. I will use it on the C4R. Thanks

Meade LX 50 Purchase?

I am considering buying one of these from a person here in town. Does any one have any first hand experience with these. Optically and mechanically. They are asking $1000 plus it comes with a meade focal reducer and some camera equipment. By the way it is the 10" LX50. Does this sound like a good deal? Appreciate all responses.

Mirror coating ?

I just got hold of an old coulter 13" odyssey 1 and it should be here in a few days. It was manufactured in 1988 and i was wondering if i should need to recoat the mirror? And if so has anybody had any experience with beral coatings or have any advice in this area. Thanks
