Someone post a Losmandy GM8 pic with a 4" APO. Ive never seen one, and would like to get an idea of its actual size compared to the scope.

Comet?

Wow, you can tell I havent been keeping up lately.
Last night was first night out with new Tak FS78 and G8. I was scanning around with a 40mm Pentex. I left M13, and not too far away I spotted a comet. What comet is this?

Anyone using an SBIG 2000 yet?

The prices on this camera seems to be too good to be true. With the pixel size it has, and the size of the chip one would think it would cost that of an ST8. The 2000 is an antiblooming camera, how would it compare to an antiblooming ST8? WHy such a price difference? Seems that somethings up with these cameras. Anyone with experience with the 2000 I would appreciate if you would contact me, or post here your experience with it. Looking for deep sky, or solar images.
Im debating buying one of these, but Im affraid of it. However its pushing my budget so the ST8 is out of the question. Im using an FS102 and the 2000 seems like it would be a great match. Ive posted on SBIG, but only got one responce.

SBIG 2000 image.

Test shot through my new 2000. Its just a star field around Capella. Moon was full, so Ill get a good pic soon.
I was out to see what kind of field of view I was going to have, and see how my mount guided ect.
This is a 200 second single image. Dark subtracted, and flat fielded.
Any others imaging with a 2000, let me know. I reformatted, and lost my e mails. Looks like it may be a fine camera.
The scope was an FS102 at f8.

Heres my second image. Solar full disk, baader, FS102 and new 2000 cam. Its suposed to be clear tonight, and moonless, so hopefully Ill have something good for you guys tomarrow.

Microscopes..

I want to buy a microscope this coming year. Im sure its like astronomy, the more you spend, the happier youll be. Anyone know of a good Forum, or microscope website that explains different types ect. What will it take to get a really good one? 2,3 grand? I would like to be able to attatch my SBIG 2k to it. I would like one that will really get me close.
Also any book recommendations so Ill know what Im looking at, or what to look for. This sounds like a really good winter adventure, but itll probably be next winter. Id like to go ahead and learn about what Im getting into to avoid disappointment.

40mm Coroanado filters.

Quick question.. Im debating a 60 with BF30, or a 40mm just to see what these are like. Ive used a few daystars, and am afraid to sink too much $$$$ into a coronado not having seen one before.
My question is.. Is there any way to set up straight through with the 40? I dont trust the 1.25 diagonal to hold my camera. No matter how strong anyone claims them to be.
Im only interested in full disk imaging, so think the 40 would be plenty, sure 60 would be better, and thats probably what Ill try unless theres a way with the 40mm Im unaware of.
