Re: Meade is sued for false advertising

Posted By Bob Chan

It is probably someone who wanted a quality scope on the cheap, and is upset at what they purchased. Hey, on optics, you usually get what you pay for. I have 3 Meade Scopes, They on the other hand have never given me any problem whatsoever. I also have 3 scopes from their No. 1 competetor
I have nothing but joy out of my ETX90, 12" LX-200 and 10" Meade Equatorial Starfinder. I know others have had problems with Meade products, but you can count me as a very happy customer. Just my 2/100th of a dollar.

Just Curious? Anybody seen a 29" Coulter?

Posted By Bob Chan

Coulter Optical made a 29" Monster of a Dobsonian back in the 80's. I always wondered how many of those Humongous Scopes did they actually build? And How many exist today? Anybody out there know? I am really curious. Thanks for any input.

What ever happened to Tom Masterson

Posted By Bob Chan

I know this isn't exactly the place to post this. But, When I first checked out the Forums back in 1998, there was this very knowledgeable fellow named Tom Masterson. I think he was from Washington State. He always had great humor and made the forums great. Aybody know what ever became of him?
Thanks for any information.

Can't focus with 2" focuser

Posted By Bob Chan

Hi, I have a friend who has a 10.1" Coulter Odyssey Dobsonian. With his 1 1/4" focuser he had no problems. After he went to a 2" Orion focuser, he can't get it to focus properly. Both drawtubes are the exact length, Can anyone tell me this is happening? Thanks in advance for any help.
