I use the IPAQ/Sky with my EM-10. It seems to work pretty well. SB was working on a new driver for it, which has been released. I also have the hand controller, and I've always considered it a bit awkward to use. I love the 'military-style' look of it, though :-)

I use the Rigel Systems Pulseguide. It threads into the finder just fine. And i do find it userful. I would not buy the overpriced Tak illuminator if you're going to get one.

This is my Tak TOA with the 8" pier extension. The pier height is 44 inches and feels pretty solid. 8O

I read this article in the August issue of Outside magazine. While we generally see 'gloom and doom' behind GW the Greenlanders (?) seem to be welcoming it. It seems that some areas of the world will actually benefit.

EM-200 Go-To?

Yes,

There is a Tak hand controller. I bought one for my EM-10. Search at the buytelescopes.com web site. It's not cheap though ($595), and not as sophicated as some of the other things out there (like the Gemini or AP). It's built like a tank, though. Kind of has a military look to it.

I believe that's what the war of 1861-65 ('Civil War') was about? Not slavery, but States' rights and how these rights were interpreted before the drafing of the Constitution. These secessionist tendencies were in place even at the founding of the colonies. Massachusetts (that liberal bastion) even tried to secede in the early part of the 19th century.

If the states have too much rights then we don't really have a centralized form of Government and all of the benefits that derive from it. Having a strong Federal gov creates more benefits than devolving more rights to the States, IMHO.

Mach1gto - first light

I've got mine and it works flawlessly, too...in the house :S I haven't had a chance to get it outside for a shakedown. But it is very portable. It breaks down nicely slews QUICK.

Last night was first light for it. We put my TMB 115 CNC on it, and since it was a nearly full Moon, I put the ST2k on as soon as I was star synced.

It is a little noisier than the 900 and 1200 mounts. The software for the keypad hasn't been updated to show the Mach1 as an option yet, but it worked fine with the keypad thinking it was an AP1200.

Imaging could become boring with this mount. You set everything up, tell it what to do, and it just does it. Flawlessly.

It's an incredibly nice mount.
