I've tried the demo (and since purchased the license) and found the controls to work right off the bat. Sorry to say I can't imagine why you're having your problems, but your demo should definitely be fully operational. Take your question to the Maxim DL Yahoo group
(http://groups.yahoo.com/group/MaxImDL) and Doug George and the crew should be able to help you out. Their online service is wonderful. Or, to think of it, you could call them, although I've never tried that.

Hey Joseph,

Maybe check with Paul Lefevre (lefevre at midway dot com). He used a CFW8 of some sort with his SX HX916 and would probably know how to get that working. Do a Google search for his name and HX916 and you'll see what he's done.
