meade mirror

Posted By Troy Tolhurst

I have a Meade 12.5 star finder and am in the middle of rebuilding it. However I did something very dumb to the mirror when I was still very new to the hobby. I tried to clean the dust off it with a camel hair brush, So now there is allot of tiny scratches on it, not deep...seems to be on the coatings IM guessing. At any rate, Meade glued the mirror and top of a piece of 1-inch particleboard. After reading on this site I am wondering if that is affecting my performance. Besides that I thinking about getting it redone at Galaxy Optics but don’t now how to get it off the piece of wood with our missing it up any more. Or wondering if I did ruin the mirror any way.
ANY SUGESSTIONS?

mirror coatings

Posted By Troy Tolhurst

I know this is going to sound like a dumb question but, how bad do scratchs on the mirror have to be before it totally screws up your image. I tried dusting off my 12.5 with a camel hair brush when I first got it. Still considered a newbie. It seems to be working fine but cant tell for sure because I dont have any thing to compare it with.
Thanks Troy

quickcam mod

Posted By Troy Tolhurst

Hi all,
I am tring to modify a quickcam 4000 web cam and I posted a quistion a few days ago. (thank you Ivan for your suggestion), so I joined http://groups.yahoo.com/group/QCUIAG/
and I am waiting for approved membership. However I am in search of the IC chip for the modification of Martin Burri web sight. I have called all over the USA, and have no luck in finding it. It seems evry body that is refered to me is out of bussiness. I am very fustrated because this is truelly where my passion is. being new to the hobby I dont have many connects for such ting s as this chip., Can any body give me some tips? The chip is either part# IC4066 or MC4066. from what I understand the MC or IC 4016 will also work. thanks
