Spring the Season of galaxies. Boring...

Posted By Jorge Almeida

Hi

I don´t think that observe any DSO is boring. The sky is not boring!!! Indeed it is full of jewells. Either observe double stars, globular clusters, or galaxies. And they really seem different each other! YOu must try to skecth DSO´s, or more specifically, galaxies, on your case. You must leave more time to your eyes to adapt. In this way you can get more details of galaxies. Try it!!

And don´t forget: THE SKY WAS NEVER BORING, NEITHER IS, NEITHER WILL BE!!! WRITE THIS a thousand times! wink

How about a strip sketch?

Posted By Jorge Almeida

Wow! That´s a nice idea!!! But you refer to SEB, isn´t it? smile So, I will try to skecth that SEB with more details and I hope I can compare with your sketches.
I have a dob 8" f/6 that is fairly to planetary observing. If I had a f/12, at least, it will be well better. I spotted, more once time, Jupiter on Mewlon 250 Takahashi and it was delirious. A fantastic image, one of the best I saw! So much details that I cannot spot on my dob 8".

M51 with binocs?

Posted By Jorge Almeida

I've seen M57 like a dim star with 10x50 binocular in a night with superb transparency. M57 was near zenith at that time.
