Portable Refractor

I am thinking of purchasing a used quality refractor(OTA)in the $800-1000 price. Ideally, I would like something highly portable with the ability to mount it on my older 1980's C11. The C11 has a fork mount,heavy duty wedge and tripod. I want something that I can used for planetary and lunar observation. Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

Does anyone have any comments regarding this scope? I'm looking for something to compliment my C11. I would like to have the ability to mount the refractor on the C11 tube. How do I accomplish this? Can I use a 2" TV 20mm Type 2 Nagler with this scope or will this eyepiece be to heavy? Thanks Kevin Ireland

I am saddened by the accumulated losses of fellow honest Astromart users. As a relative newcomer, I have recently bought and sold a number of high quality items that I either had no outlet for, or could not have afforded at retail. This medium has allowed me to rekindle my love for astronomy. Today was a sobbering moment for me. Due to Herb's ad, I will be much more aware in my future Astromart dealings. Thanks again to all the honest people out there, keep up the good work and report fraud immediately.

Can a Vintage C11 OTA be used with the Ultima Moun

Hello,
I have a vintage C11 optical tube and fork drive assembly. A C11 Ultima fork drive is for sale on Astromart and I was wondering if I can adapt my tube and wedge to this fork drive. Thanks for any help you can offer.

C11 Fork Mount

Hello,
I have a vintage C11 orange tube with fork mount, wedge and heavy duty tripod. Lately, I've been unhappy with the slop that has developed over in the dec arms. The play seems to be coming from the tangent arms on both sides as it rocks in the fork even though the allen bolts are tight. Is there any way to shim the arms to remove this play?
