As an up and coming rookie at this I recently sold my ETX and have been trying to decide on either a Televue 102 or the C 9.25 as my next scope. I had pretty much decided on the 9.25 until a fella brought up the performance of the two in a suburban setting. Most of us have light, although my back yard is not to bad, I think? Any comments would help.

C 9.25 Mount???

Thanks for all the input guys. Now that I have decided on the 9.25 OTA I am trying to decide on the GPS model or the Advanced Series GT. Have never used a German style mount before. I have only owned a fork mount. I am sure everyone has an opinon as to which they would choose. Also I noticed the 9.25 GPS does not accept the Fastar is this something that I would regret later? Yes these are newbie questions but where else can one get enough info to make an intelligent decision.

Orion 80 ED Mounting

I've just rec'd my 80ED and need some advice on selecting a mount for it. I would like to keep it as light weight as possible without the shakes. Also would like to occasionally piggyback it on my C8 GPS, has any one had any experience with a scope of this size on an 8". What components would work best. All opinions welcome.

Polar Alignment

Encoder Mount (ALT) Help!

I am nearing completion on my 15" truss tube and have been unable to find a bracket to mount the DSC encoder to the mirror box. It has open style bearings so the bracket must extend out from the MB to clear them. Before machining one, does anyone know if there is an of off the shelf bracket available? Also I am looking for a source for a light shroud.

Secondary Holder Mod.

Has anyone modified their secondary holder so that the adjustment screws are spring loaded and extended above the spider? I have seen this on some of the Obsessions. I am thinking about making the mod to my Astrosystems holder so I can get rid of the tool and problem of loosen this one and tighten this one. Anyone input welcome.

Thanks for the input everyone, now that I have decided on the 9.25 comes the next question. The mount? The new advanced series is priced right(maybe to good to be true). Then there is the Nexstar system which looks to be really nice. I could also go for a third party mount. Input is welcome.
