A astrograph without sacrificing body parts

Posted By Daniel Baik

Isn't there any scope that is low in price, delivery quality pin-point star images, and doesn't cost an arm and a leg?
Scope must be less than or equal to $1200, and have a low f/ ratio.

US nuclear secrets to China late 1990's?

Posted By Daniel Baik

I remember briefly hearing about all the nuclear secrets were stolen by China. But that story was hushed up rather quickly. Can anyone explain in detail to me about this?

Intes MN56 JMI drawtube

Posted By Daniel Baik

I recently purchased a MN56 that had a JMI dual focuser on it. Now the problem is that I have to extend the drawtube way out and even then I have to take out the eyepiece in order to get the object I am looking at to focus. Is there any solution to this problem for I find this mildly annoying.

Skysensor II Super Polaris Motors? Help?

Posted By Daniel Baik

Hi I have a Super Polaris that came with motors for a Skysensor II. Can I use these motors for a Skysenor 2000, DD-1, or DMD-1 controller? I heard somewhere that the motors were not compatible. I want to clarify it here.
Let me know.
Thanks

Cashing a Money Order

Posted By Daniel Baik

I recently sold something of mine in which I received a Money Order. However the money order had my mailing address on it and not my living address. In order to cash in a money order I need to show a picture id and a address most likely the same address. Is there anyway around this? It was a $30 MO.

Comet Catcher Modification ?

Posted By Daniel Baik

I know there are some Comet Catcher owners out there. Some who want to or probably already are tapping into its fast focal speed. Did anyone modify the focuser or put in a new focuser to lessen the vignetting of the 1.25 output? Any new mods? I was thinking of buying a new 2" crayford and spider rings to handle it. What do you guys thing?

Tubes, tubes, tubes.

Posted By Daniel Baik

I am interested in rebuilding a telescope. The money and time are an issue for me, both are in want! I know that there is Parallax Instruments, however I am afraid their prices will be expensive. Can someone suggest a person or a company who can make a ~5.75" diameter tube that is 20" that can do it for say $30 bucks?

Flying Rats

Alright maybe not but these pigeons are just as annoying and "pest-y" as their four legged rodent counterparts.
Of course living in New York City with these birds can convince you so.

100/800 fuzzy image

Posted By Daniel Baik

I recently purchased a used 100/800 as well as William Optic's ZS 10th year anniversary fluorite doublet. I'm impressed with both. However recently when looking at the moon at 250X I noticed that the image is fuzzy in my 100/800 while the ZSFD is sharp. What can be causing this fuzziness? When I take the scope to 400X the image becomes extremely fuzzy and dull. While the ZSFD still remains sharp.
