Hello fellow stargazers! Has anyone out there shortened the legs of their giant tripod which accompanies the 12 and 14 inch scopes? I would like to trade up from my 10" but am intimidated by the size and am moderately height challenged at 5'8" and have balance issues. It would be nice to have both feet on the ground!

Greetings eveybody. I am taking possession of a new CGE14 on the older CGE mount which Celestron is building for me at present. I will take delivery next month.

I've read some reviews off the web and get the same basic message...the optics are flawless and the mount adequate. Most of the reviews regarding the mount were written circa 2006. I know the mount and controller have had some of the bugs worked out, and I expect the goto to be more accurate. Is this an erroneous assumption on my part?

If you have one of these scopes and have learned all the quirks/tricks, what tips might you pass along?

It is miles different from the Lx200s and LX90s and the 15 Discovery, that's for sure!
